The Jets have waived/non-football illness TE Shawn Nelson on TUES. Nelson only practiced a few days with the Green & White

I know it's minor but thought its worthy of posting. 1 roster spot open

Sounds like the Jets medical staff didn't do a good enough job prior to signing him. Shame, this means more Mulligan

I hope the bears cut a tight end or safety when they sign Orton.

unlike the jets, you actually have to able to tackle in order to make the bears roster. you have to be able to block to play tight end.

Yes Ironically it was vs the Bills when Keller had the head injury. He has good hands and hope he goes in over Mull

Baker has been playing Special Teams and goes in for about 1 or 2 plays during the last few games. He has very good hands and is a prolific blocker if given the chance.

Are you a relative? I don't usually expect that much enthusiasm for an undrafted rookie from Northwest Missouri State.

I have no problem with giving him a shot. The team can't do much worse than Mulligan.

Baker's actually been around for quite some time. He had hard luck with injuries, but he was on the radar a few years back. He's definitely a good athlete who can be something more.

I think the Jets really need a more traditional tight end who can catch the football and run block on a regular basis. Mulligan is someone the defense never has to worry about. Keller isn't a blocker. Sanchez could use the security blanket.

True. His sophomore year at Delaware when he played with Flacco started his looks but since he had to play his last year at NWMS caused him to fly under most team's radar. The Jets continued to follow him though.
