Mike Mayock shattered Joe Theismann's records on Thursday night Truly a momentous date in NFL broadcasting history.
I didn't know that Orlando Pace was back in the game, playing for the Jets as an OLB. Somehow, Bart Scott morphed into David Harris' body and was able to make tackles while wearing another jersey. "Look, Vladimir Ducasse is now lined up at tackle!!!" Terrible. Just made watching the game even more of a negative experience.
i like mayock but even he was getting on my nerves with the constant analyses on technique, strategy, and game planning. some of that is good but it was too much last nite.
If I heard "seal the edge" and "contain" one more time, I was going to kick the cat. Maycock should stick to draft day television, where he excels.
Yeah, he's excellent as a draft analyst, but I think he leaves a bit to be desired as an announcer. He almost seems like a guy you'd throw in as a last minute fill-in if someone got sick or as a guest spot for 15 minutes or so. It's just not his thing.
Joe Mcknight's screen. "That's the first screen of the game" No, you cunt bucket, the play where Shonn left due to injury was a screen pass. Those announcers were beyond godawful.
How about at the end of the game when one of them wanted the jets to call time out and they had none left.
I can't remember any of my comments from last night, but I also thought the game was poorly announced, as well as poor camera work. NFLN was too busy showing graphics when a play was about to start. They were continually tricked by play action. The announcers had no idea what was going on.
You guys ought to think yourself lucky...in the UK we have to experience Johnny Mitchells thoughts..yes thats right the ex Jets superstar TE.. He is like fucking Ducases retarded brother
I knew the announcers were gonna be great last night when after Greene got injured, one said "That's what happens when you run the option offense." Seriously?
I forgot about the cameramen being fooled by play action- happened more than once. It was almost as though their camera guys had graduated BOCES Tech the night before and this was their first gig. It's not the first time that we've pointed out the flaws in an NFLN telecast. Sort of ironic that the league's own network calls the worst game.
Have they really dug up Mitchell? I watch exclusively online via gamepass, so that's news to me. Did he have anything worthwhile to say, or did he quit on the broadcast half way through, come back an hour later saying he wasn't a quitter and then leave again 30 seconds later?
Maycock had a legendary night. I like he ended the game by loudly complaining about the Jets not using a timeout. That happened because once again he wasn't paying attention and didn't notice the timeout after the sack. NFL Network doesn't show a play clock and the announcers are terrible. Aside from "Orlando Pace", we also got "Jamie Leonard" and "pound and ground".
