I'm not sure if anybody else noticed this and i could be way off....

Prior to the game on Sunday i noticed 2-3 New England DL's (no jerseys so i couldn't see who it was) out on the field by themselves (while the kickers were practicing). They were working against the padded goalpost. They kept practicing a strong jam with both hands and then going around the goalpost.

Fast forward to the second half. The pats get up by a few and start bringing the heat on sanchez consistently with only 3 guys. How are they doing it? Andre Carter is straight up jamming Ferguson and going around him like a road cone.

    4.5 sacks later...

Did Ferguson have some kind of achilles heel exposed or was that just a coincidence?

He's been in the league too long for their to have been some great realization about how to beat him. There is years worth of film on him so I would just call it a bad game.

oh my god, how did they figure out you can jam a LT and then go around him?

we're so screwed now. it's amazing that no one has thought of that in 3-4 years.

I get the snark and agree with it mostly. I've just never seen him get beaten so consistently.

IMO it was just a bad game, he is one of the best in the league and has taken on the best past rushers and made them ineffective or less effective.

Are you saying we should use a padded goalpost as our LT instead of Brick?

most of the pressure was due to the fact that they left a crappy TE (Mulligan) on a DE. Ferguson wasnt the victim on most of those pressures.

Not instead of Brick but the goal post would be a better backup than Ducasse

It'll have a better understanding of the playbook, but it's limited mobility may hurt us on screens.
