Now I feel like you are fucking with us. So now teams are dominant if they have a good season the year before. Mail me some of whatever you are smoking. They won the superbowl on a year they weren't dominant but they are still a dominant team. By that logic we are just as good as last year. Things change so quickly in the NFL and no 1 season is the same. Look at the bengals go from division winner to trash back to a 6-3 team. Why am I still talking to you its obvious you have brain damage.
first of all, the assertion that teams don't dominate the league over periods of time defies any semblance of sense. over a 7 season stretch (3 before SB, 1 Super Bowl, 3 after SB) the Colts won the following amount of games: 12, 12, 14, 12, 13, 13, 14. are you actually saying that the Colts did not dominate the league for that period of time? that would be the pinnacle of your dumb fuckery if so. so, yes, you can dominate the league over a period of time even if you aren't the most dominant team the season you win, like the Colts. second, since 1981 the Super Bowl Champion has average 12.5 wins per season, which is actually lower than the Colts average of wins over that 7 year time span (12.7). so, just using the average SB winner wins, 12.5 is a logical basis to say a team dominates, either for a single season or over a period of time. and looking at the Super Bowl winner, only 6 in 30 years have less than 12 wins, so clearly wins aren't meaningless and there is a direct correlation. But even then, of the teams that won less than 12 games, a few are considered dominant dynasties: 2005 Pittsburgh Steelers: 2 SB Championships in 4 years. dominant. 2001 Patriots -- 3 SB's. Dominant. 1988 49'ers -- 4 Super Bowls in a decade. Please explain how that team wasn't dominant, I'd love to hear it. 1987 Redskins -- 3 Super Bowls. I'd love to hear how the Redskins aren't considered to have been a dominant team as well. you should try to use facts when posting, it really helps. you see how easily I made you look completely ignorant of NFL history with just a few basic facts? I'll make it even simpler for you. Here is the breakdown of wins: 10 win -- only 3 teams 11 wins -- only 3 teams 12 wins -- 8 teams 13 wins -- 7 teams 14 wins -- 6 teams 15 wins -- only two teams the only team to win a SB with less than 10 wins -- 1981 Redskins who only won 8. of course they went 8-1 in a 9 game season, which equals essentially 15 wins. simple as that. wins equate to how good you are, and unless you win 12 games you are unlikely to win the Super Bowl, so clearly it is meaningful. if you win less than 12, it indicates you aren't good enough to win the SB. I eagerly await your rebuttal to reality.
Aside from the Colts and Saints all the teams that have won recently have had a strong defense and a QB capable of leading a scoring drive under pressure late when the game is on the line. Eli Manning was being widely criticized in the first half of his third season. Then he got things together a bit and watched his defense go berserk down the stretch keeping the Giants in contention. THEN he had a few games where he totally shit the bed late in the season and was being criticized AGAIN as a problem on the team. This is the guy who went 18 for 53 for 3.47 yards a pass against Washington in the Meadowlands in a game the Giants needed to win to guarantee a playoff spot. He went 21 for 49 with 4 Int's in another loss at home against Minnesota. He was bad with a capital B in 7 of his 16 starts that year. Then he found found himself in the Super Bowl with the ball in his hands and the Patriots inexplicably about to let him win the game if he could just make a few throws, which he did. The making of a franchise QB in his third season. From goat to hero in a matter of 8 weeks. People need to get some perspective on Sanchez and unfortunately that won't happen as long as he's being held back by personnel decisions he has no control over and an inexplicable loyalty that the franchise has to a coach who hasn't done anything to deserve that level of esteem.

Jet's also have the easier schedule over the Bengals, Titans and Bills. It would take a monumental collapse to not make the playoffs.
Cincinnati has beaten Baltimore at least once every season stretching back to 2002 except for 2008. That's a divisional rivalry where both teams get wins. Expect them to split the two they have left this year because that's what history tells us will happen. After that they just have to beat Cleveland, St Louis and Arizona to get to 10 wins, which is where I expect them to wind up. They might even beat Houston now with Schaub out. There are going to be three teams with 10 wins in the AFC North. That's where the Jets likely get bumped out if they only win 10 games.
Sure, Baltimore and Cincinnati have split all those years. But that was without a rookie QB who will be facing the Ravens Defense for the first two times in his career. I could easily see the Ravens taking both especially if the last game of the season is for the division title.
I agree with you 100%. The Ravens losing to the Bengals at home with a rookie QB? ... I just don't think Ray Lewis, Suggs, Reed etc. are going to let that happen. And if that last game means anything I'll put my money on the Ravens again. I think people need to recapture a little perspective about the Bengals. They've been a nice story, but really ... Cleveland, Buffalo, Jacksonville, Indy, Seattle, Tennessee ... not exactly Murderer's Row. Their defense has very good numbers, but how many of those teams can actually score points?? True, they have a shot to beat Houston now without Shaub, but I can also see them losing on the road to the Rams. FYI .. TOTAL OFFENSE - Seattle 29 Cleveland 30 Indy 31 Jax 32 Tenn 21 You think playing over half your games against those teams might make a defense look pretty good? I expect us both to be 6-4 by Sunday night. Maybe I should be more worried ... but I'm not.
