Nobody trades for a guy like him during camp. They wait for guys to be released.

he is in the bunker hanging my clothes The Green Dude just washed.

btw if we wait for a top tier team to lose a #1 or #2 wr,we could get something POSSIBLY in return.

Justin McCarreins is the same player as Ashley Lelie. Ashley Lelie will never turn into a #1 because he expects the position to be handed to him because he was a 1st roudn draft pick. He is not willing to compete for a job so he will inevitably fail.

Horrible idea, trying to trade for Lelie, or Chris Brown, very fragile...I would love the jets to trade him to chicago for Thomas Jones...now he is a back of the future! then next years draft we can focus on WR and DE/DT

It time to re-think your value of Blaylock....Aside from Cmart he is the only RB with veteran experience on the team. He runs well inside and out, block very well, catches the ball very well...All proven when he was with hte Chiefs and above all he is aHUGE special teams player. Remember this is the guy who was the lead blocker for Dante Hall in KC and I think he did a very nice job for us last year when hew was back there as well.

he is my favourite back in the NFL I would love that but they turned down Lelie and he is a better player than J-Mac, we would need to sweeten the pot, but Jones would look great in green

Thomas Jones?? The guy has been a major bust until finally putting up decent #s last year.. I'm all for drafting our future franchise RB.

We would get next to nothing for J-Mac if we tried to trade him......he's our bad investment we need to see if he can redeem himself this year.

    From Cimini's Blog:

    On to the queries:

    LEE S. WEISSMAN

From Ira: What’s up with the receiving situation? Is Justin McCareins going to get cut?

Clearly, McCareins hasn’t been embraced by the new coaching staff. In last night’s controlled scrimmage, he was running with the second team, with Laveranues Coles and Tim Dwight in the starters’ group. That said, I don’t think they’re going to cut McCareins, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they try to deal him. Let me throw this out there: What about a McCareins-for-Ashley Lelie trade? McCareins would be reunited with Mike Heimerdinger, whom he played for with the Titans and Jets. What about McCareins for Jerry Porter? Remember, Jimmy Raye, on Eric Mangini’s staff, was the Raiders’ offensive coordinator last year. On second thought, Porter can be a pain in the neck, and I think Mangini wants to stay away from those players.

There are some salary-cap considerations with McCareins. If the Jets cut or trade him, they’d get stuck with $1 million this year in dead money and another $3 million in 2007. P.S.: Keep an eye on Reggie Newhouse, a free agent. The staff really likes him.

Wow, nothing gets by you Camini... considering he is ALREADY ON THE JETS ROSTER!!!!

Guess he's not a free-agent, and apparently the staff did like him, considering he is on the roster

im also confused with all the blaylock bashing.....im not saying hes grest but all the nonsense excuses i heard on this board since last season about injuries, including jmac, I never hear anyone saying blaylock was hurt. And blaylock was actually hurt!!!!!!Jmac and some of his supporters on this board(although theyre a dying bread)claimed he was hurt. There is absolutely no reason at this point to hate blaylock. Maybe he'll be a solid contributor for us and maybe he'll suck gigantic moose nuts and eggrolls, but lets give hima fair chance.

Throw in David Barrett too--He's way overpaid and I doubt he'll start this year. I'll take Miller and Dyson, and Mickens on the nickel

We need depth at every postion on the field. Last year turned into a disaster for our team because of our lack of depth at many key positions so we can't start trading players away just because they are overpaid or won't start.

At this point, JMac has no value in the market. Rarely do you see trades this time of year considering rosters are going to start getting trimmed down soon.
