Bj Askew i know but isnt he listed at rb now? i think hes way to small to be a fb... what are we gonna do here. any decent ones on the market
Askew is 6'3" and well over 235lbs. How is he too small? We have another fullback who played some last year on special teams, but I can't remember his name.
I'm not sure anyone really has a FB anymore. Just the way of the game. They will be back in vogue before too much longer. Fb's are now big Rb's or TE's used in specific situations.
Askew will be a good fullback. He has more speed and agility than Sowell, and just as good hands and reliable out of the backfield with better ball-carrying ability. Blocking-wise he's a downgrade, Sowell was a force, but I think he will be good enough. He can be a weapon IMO. This is not an area that needs to be adressed this offseason.
let's hope it wont be a problem. we don't exactly need another liability in the blocking department-running or passing
The release of Sowell says to me that the FB won't be needed, or at least won't be anything more than a very small part of the new offense. Askew will fill in when needed, and I'd look for a backup to be drafted in the sixth round or so, just for depth and ST's.
dont we need a good blocking fullback though we dont even have good blocking TE's or an O-line this year is going to be a disaster
I agree FB is such an overlooked position how many times have the Jets been 4th and short and get stuffed. Beasly is a beast would love him in green and whit..and look how a good FB opens up a run , prob one of the best Fb's Lorenzo Neal prime example
