Heading up there as well... This is my FIRST Jets game! Can't wait, couldn't have picked a better first game to see!
I'll be there (Section 149), standing and shouting for pretty much the entire game; so Fuck You to anyone else in this section who's sitting behind me telling people to sit lol. In recent memory, the loudest I've ever heard the crowd was 2009's game vs the Pats---our first game against NE under Rex; that energy was truly palpable. But because of the magnitude of this game, the rivalry, the ramifications of winning, and the fact that it's the late, primetime game (i.e., plenty of time to arrive at the stadium and drink), then I expect this crowd to be even louder than that '09 game against NE. I'm strongly considering going ahead and cancelling my Monday class right now. And it starts at 2:50 PM haha.
Which is why the jumbo-screen displays that lame (albeit necessary, I guess) "construction" sign that says, "SSHHH! OFFENSE AT WORK" or whatever it says.
When I was at the '09 vs Pats home game we were standing up for every single third down and basically the entire 2nd half. When ever we were on defense, people started yelling 'Remember the phone call !!!"(screaming while standing on their seat with their hand to their ear like a phone). "Do It For REXXX !! The PHONE-CALL !!!! It was so funny that everyone started doing it when out defense come. I was on the visitors sideline so everyone time the Pats when 3 and out we had the loudest "BRADY SUCKS" chants and you could definitely tell it was pissing him off.(There was a few Gesile is slut chants as well lma0).Everyone continued to chant and celebrate all the way out of the stadium. I am rambling here but that game was one the best experiences ever and made be feel so much camaraderie with everyone in the stadium. I have read here that new stadium is too spread out and doesn't get as loud. I hope they are proved wrong Sunday night.
where is the best place to buy tickets? I looked on stubhub and it seems like they going for about $100
stubhub, ebay, craigslist..even the sub section on here. tradtionally i've always snagged good deals on ebay from people who can't make the game and just need to get rid of them (not jets game persay, but a lot of MLB/NBA tickets)
Every Stadium has this sign. I remember watching the Steelers game and the sign displayed "Quiet Big Ben at Work". Home-field advantage has more of an effect on the Offense rather than the Defense IMO. Its just cool that "we" as fans can have a true effect on the game.
QFT As horrible an experience the AFCCG was last year (for a Jets fan), the stadium operations was fucking brilliant at Heinz Field. "Get loud" was on screen during the Jets O possessions, and "Shhhh" during Pitt's O possessions. And tons of other stuff was displayed to get the crowd into the game and keep the noise level high during defensive drives. To pump up the crowd even more they were playing highlights of Steelers past and present teams beating the shit out of opponents during possession changes and commercial breaks. They did a kick ass job for the fans and it definitely helped pump up the crowd. Since I haven't been to a game at NMS yet, I am hoping to experience the same for my fan base. I am hoping this is better than the 7~8 years I spent at the shit hole known as vaGiants stadium. I hope they bring those air horns back from the 2009 Jets-Pats game - they were SOOOOO fucking loud!
Watch out who you stand up in front of - The dude who HAD season tickets next to me (who was actually a die-hard fan) got taken down and then BANNED for LIFE from Metlife stadium by security after some homosexual texted security complaining. The only thing he was doing was standing and screaming for our defense. Granted he told the guy behind us to kindly "fuck off", but he should have never been banned. The upper deck is a joke.
ill be in that upper deck screaming my lungs out. already decided to take off monday. this is gonna be a good one. love that rex knows we have an impact on the game.
I see this from time to time in my section upstairs as well. I probably stand up a little more than people prefer but it's never in a totally random situation. Any big play or third down I'm on my feet, other times I try not to ruin an experience for whoever's behind me.
Makes many more mentions in today's presser. "I wouldn't ask them to do this if I didn't think it would make a difference" http://www.newyorkjets.com/photos-a...nference/6d434d7b-f9b2-4ff2-93f4-df4d9ed7baf9
I don't know for how long the patriots have been doing this for but last week against the Giants, the stadium fired off rifle shot sounds a split second after each and every Giants' offensive snap. That shit was annoying. Forget airhorns. We should do this to them on our turf, but fire off machine gun noise instead.
