As it has been said on the CBS broadcast, this year teams have been stinking up the joint the game after the bye, and so far during the Rex Ryan era we have been horrible in those games losing to Jacksonville and Green Bay at home, can Rex buck the trend? will Shotty fix his gameplans and not over complicate things which he tends to do. I sure as hell hope so.
Pending the Eagles tonight, teams on a bye last week were 4-1 this week. If Philly wins the record is 8-10, obviously indicative of nothing. The Jets record under Rex and Schotty is a different matter, although 2 games is too small a sample to know for sure. I can't say that I'm not concerned. This game is absolutely crucial to the team's hopes this year.
bit of a change to the practice schedule this week They will hit the feild and practice 1230 pm tomorrow and then go back to their regular schedule of game planning tuesday, practice on wednesday and thursday and full pads on friday obviously Monday is to wake everyone up and get them ready for the week ahead Just heard this on the radio with (the radio legend) Bill Daughtry reported by Larry Hardesty
As odd as this sounds, I think that it helps that we're playing on the road. Teams seem to be more complacent after a bye at home.
i've said this like 20 times. i hate hearing this on the radio or on TV. look at the teams that 3-9 stat was based on. THE WORST TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE miami, ST louis, Indy, arizona, denver, seattle, cleveland, washington, kansas city the only decent teams were the ravens, san diego and dallas. and dallas and san diego had tough matchups
Bad teams coming off the bye have lost (Cleveland, St Louis, Miami, Arizona, Seattle), good teams coming off the bye have won (Baltimore, Buffalo, Giants, 49ers), mediocre teams coming off the bye have been a mixed bag of results (Cowboys L @ New England, Washington L @ Philly, Tennessee L to Kingston, Denver W @ Miami, Chiefs W @ Raiders, San Diego L @ Jets, Cincinnati W @ Seattle). The only good team to lose the week after a bye has been New England, and a road game at Pittsburgh is always tough regardless of whether you've had a week off.
The game is crucial after a BYE or not. Fans can worry that Rex is 0-2 after Byes, but it doesn't really matter this week. The Jets are playing a familier foe in a must win. Lets roll.
We got this the bills are toast. It's time to introduce the second half of the season JETS team... Im hoping the all got healthy( Bart scott running better?) and have some fire coming out the gates
I still don't understand why the NFL can't create a schedule where if you are coming off the bye week then you play someone else also off the bye week. Seems pretty fair to me. There are many different ways that this could be accomplished. One way would be to have two division games the week after your division is "off".
I think getting shut out after the bye last season had more to do with us than it had to do with who we were playing against.
Third year for Rex, and now his third Bye Week. I hope he has figured out how to come out of a Bye Week. If we come out flat again and lose to the Bills, then our chances for a divisional title are just about sunk.
to have any shot at the division, I think we need to win all of our remaining division games. I think we will do that, but still some up short in the division to the pats by 1 game. 11-5 for the Jets, 12-4 for the Pats
