You mean to tell me Peyton Manning torched a nickel CB? Shit, that guy must be good or something. I said last season.
The fact is that he failed miserably in arguably the biggest game of his life, basically losing the game for us and thus our first trip to the SB in 40 years. Last year is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.
Kyle Wilson has been much improved in coverage. Congrats on the pick, but you need to know the situation. I was screaming at him to get on the ground or out of bounds when he started to try to return it.
I'll give him a pass on that given that it was his first career INT. Plus he's a good punt returner so it's not too unnerving to watch him make that return in the open field.
Are you sure it wasn't Rex Ryan's decision to kick a field goal instead of a coffin-corner punt right before that drive? Are you sure it wasn't Shonn Greene's injury? Are you sure it wasn't the Colts' better second-half adjustments? For the record, that play didn't result in a touchdown. The touchdown that did result from that drive didn't give the Colts the tie or the lead. This was all clearly one man's fault, though: the depth cornerback.
It's funny, you can tell he wanted to run that one all the way back. I like the desire and self confidence personally.
excellent pick in 2010 right now the second best CB selected behind the guy the Browns drafted at number 8 and way better than Drew Coleman AND Dwight Lowery combined
Kyle Wilson: Drafted in the first round to be a starting cornerback Dwight Lowery: Drafted in the fourth round to be a depth cornerback Drew Coleman: Drafted in the sixth round to be a depth cornerback who primarily played on special teams
Hating on Drew Coleman was a favorite pasttime of many posters. He was a pretty bad cover guy for most of his time here. But on the playoff teams the last 2 seasons, he was a valuable member of the defense. He was a great tackler and blitzer with a nose for the football. He made plays for us. He is a limited player, but he had his moments, just like Lowery. I like seeing them do well.
Lowery was not drafted to be a depth corner. He was drafted by a team running Mangini's defense that relied more on zone than man to man. Dwight's skills are much better suited to that type of D. He's a much better read and react guy who plays off coverage than a press corner. His over all speed droped his draft stock but he was an absloute ballhawk in school.
This dosen't have anything to do with Wil's interception but I was just looking at his page on NFL.com and can't believe he did 25 reps on the bench at the combine! Man!
Jeesh K-Dub gets one game changing play and suddenly everybody wants to talk to him! Good for him. Just don't let it go to his head Vince, we need him to keep up his stellar play.
Actually Kyle isn't hollywood. He prefers to stay home and spend time with family. He isn't into the extra stuff, no pun intended. We actually get more excited than him about his own accomplishments..... This is really a followup interview from one he had post draft day.
Surviveone, do everything in your power to convince your brother to keep practicing with Revis in the off-season. We could use a Revis clone or two on this team along with the real one.
It's been said in here, but this guy was going to be a star anyway. Practicing with a once in a generation player is never a bad idea, but give Wilson credit for being the player he is. We don't always say thanks to Ty Law when Revis makes a play.
I don't think Kyle needs to be told anything to tell you the truth. He's a grown ass man that knows how to take care of his own damn business. What he does off the field no one should give a sh* about.
