This bye week is perfect time for healing some players (ie. Mangold, etc). Buffalo game will be huge.
Also for some coaching up Maybin and Ellis should have big games against Buffalo and they wont be able to pass against us with the 3 headed monster in our secondary
I'm hoping that Sanchez takes some time this week to get with his WRs - especially Burress and Kerley - outside of the team's normal practices. Also, Rex, please don't give them the full week off again. I know there is a mandatory 4-day stretch where they can't be at the training facility but this team can't come out soft after a bye like they have been the past two seasons.
I'm pretty sure Rex already said in preseason/offseason that this year he would approach the bye week differently and not give the entire week off.
He put his hands up as the ball was in the air, looked like a very good defensive play by Jammer. He made no contact until after Holmes touched the ball.
I'm starting to believe that not calling holding on the 4th down play was the refs' attempt at a make up call.
Since we had a short week and guys are banged up I think 5-6 days is good enough. I think Sunday they should all get together and watch the Bills v Redskins at 4 as we play both and it would get to see some real action as a team rather than a straight film session when you see things developing through out a game you get more info and also this develops chemistry I think Maybin, Ellis, Wilkerson and Westerman should get extra practice as Buffalo is gonna run the ball with Jackson we all know that so if they are in we gotta really stop the run since BT is gone and our vets get in these weird lapses during the game. Cro should go see his kids and take his mind off football it seems he's thinking too much and thus its reflecting on his performance.
It's only 2 weeks off, how do you expect him to have time to see all of his kids? That will have to wait until the offseason.
I put that out there for someone to pick it up and you sir have completed the assignment :rofl:
I've been looking for info on that. Thank you. They have tons to work on this season, and they have to stay sharp so that they don't lose after the bye for the first time in Rex's tenure.
I don't have a source, but just by my memory I can remember either reading some transcript or listening to some conference call where he says this.
failed to set my DVR so I can't see it myself, but I read elsewhere that I wasn't the only IDIOT. Apparently the cameras focused on on Norvy the Genius after Sidearmin' Philip threw it out of bounds and he too apparently didn't realize that it was now FIFTH DOWN and that the frigging game was OVER
great game yesterday and don't discount the great weather and 1PM start the crowd was in a great mood and rocking. Sanchez still scares me. We ran the ball at will and got a shut out by the D in the second half. The endzone INT was almost a killer and would have been on any other day. He had some real good moments but he didn't inspire confidence on a day when the O was pounding the SD defense. Hopefully after a 2 week rest he finally gets over the pounding he took in Baltimore. We need him to be better. I was really surprised how awful Rivers looked. The Jets safties looked like midgets and Rivers looked completely confussed the entire 2nd half. SD has become a running team and Rivers simply doesn't have that confident look when he has to make a play. It looked like he could throw balls up to guys all day and he simply wasn't able to pull the trigger with any accuracy. Loved it but was surprised by it. The OL really came to play they pounded all day every play. Mangold was running easily before the game and looked healthy. Greene ran with authority especially out of the 2 TE set. I think we should do more of that and less of Conner in the backfield. The OL seemed to really like initiating contact rather than taking it. I was sitting right behind the SD bench. It's amazing how big the skill position guys are on that team and we handled them.
Does anyone listen to Lumberg on 1050 ESPN radio? last week they were naming just about any QB they would rather have than Sanchez. That segment was so silly.
