JennyVrentasJenny Vrentas McMichael (cont.): "The San Diego Chargers beat the San Diego Chargers. Nothing to do with the NYJ. It's embarrassing."
I forgot, San Diego threw all those TDs to Plax. It's not like they had 8 turnovers. The Jets beat the Chargers up and down the field. That game shouldn't have even been close.
He wasnt faceguarding. His hand went up at precisily the right time. That is how you are taught as a DB that when the hands go up, the bal lis coming and when you see it hit his hands and you knock it out, which is what he did. It was a perfect play by a DB and it got flagged. You dont have to look back if you dont have your arms up faceguarding. He had his hands on the ball and Jammer knock it out. He didnt interfere. Horrible call and the worst of the PI calls today and im not making excuses. I saw a Jet fan in a thread say they made mistakes, well sorry....we had 13 penalties against us which is ridiculous. Many of them offsides penalties which just shouldnt happen. WE are the ones who made mistakes. Only mistake the jets made that cost was a fumble that went for 6 but you can overcome that when the other team is making huge mistakes the whole game. Im all for reducing injuries but this you cant lay a finger on a WR is just plain ridiculous. A defender should have a right to the ball too. I know we got a PI also late in the game in our favor but it seems every pass these days has a chance of getting a flag which i think is just plain wrong and in Jammers case, it was a bad call. I wont complain about the others which could go either way IMO but that one was awful.
It was exactly the game it was supposed to be. The Jets stopped Mathews and limited the damage that the San Diego run game was causing and so they wound up on top. If they'd been unable to get off the field on defense they'd have lost, like they did against the Raiders. The most encouraging sign for me from the game was that the defense maintained its ability to stop a quality passer while it also contained a very good run game and limited the damage there to acceptable levels. Everything else we saw was pretty much par for the course on the season. Sanchez had some ups and down but he was good enough in the end to come out on top once the rest of the equation was in place. I think we're going to be really surprised at how hard the Jets are to beat when they finally get all the cylinders firing at the same time. That may not be this season but it's not far off.
Good all around win for the Jets! This was a high powered 4-1 AFC opponent. Let the haters hate. The Jets played a good all around game and got a well earned W! Let's enjoy this going into the Bye. The DIVISION is decided in the next two games!
You are apparently unaware of the Norv Paradox. His teams are always more talented but never come through, whether it be penalties, offsides, freak turnovers, missed field goals , poor clock management. The Norv Paradox is real and assures the Chargers will NEVER EVER win any significant accolades as long as Norv coaches your team:jets:
Violence? Throwing a pregnant woman down the stairs is beyond violence my friend. That's prison time if your not a pro athlete. I agree with you. I thought it was a bad call. We got away with a few. I'm the first guy to bitch about terrible officiating and you guys got hosed on a few calls. The non facemask, that PI call and there was another play that I'm blanking on. We've had them go against us all season so even though it sucks for you guys I'm glad we finally got some calls in our favor.
Norv isnt a great HC. Plain and simple. I think a better HC and we would go farther and yes, i mean Rex too. I would also say Rivera as well.
Much needed and deserved win. Enjoy it for 2 weeks, but get ready for our upcoming schedule. Won't get easier.
\ LOL...your division wont be decided after 8 games played. Your not in the NFC West. Our team hasnt been hitting on all cylinders all season so though we had a good record, it was against poor teams so hopefully we can get it together as well. One of the weaknesses is our run defense. Has een terrible all year so far. McGahee looked like an all pro against us.
Yeah, I think they did but that's not really the point. Blown calls are blown calls regardless of what happens next.
Of course, but when you look back on the game you can't really look at that play as if it had any real effect on that game. Now that last PI called on Jammer was an insanely bad call, one of the worst PIs of the year considering the circumstance of the game. I'm not complaining because it helped us tremendously and I still think with the way our team was clicking we would have won one way or the other but man was that a bad call.
