Every aspect of that last drive is indicative of a poorly coached team and a quarterback with a low football IQ. Rivers and Romo seem to be peas out of the same pod. Good physical ability but seriously unable to finish.
The thing about Norv Turner is that he's genuinely liked and respected around the NFL, for his skills as an offensive coordinator. If there was ever a guy who was a better example of the Peter Principle I sure don't know him.
I was pissed as hell when Green went out of bounds, but SD gave those 40 seconds back and more by taking 25 seconds to line up and call plays with no time outs on that last drive. I was expecting to have to buckle my seat belt, but didn't even break a sweat. Green's play was still dumb. After the same type of thing against the Pats in the playoffs last year, someone needs to give him a crash course on how time if more important than yards or points at the end of games.
Poorly coached team ill agree with. But not the QB IQ part. That is just a dumb thing to say. He dont call the plays, Norv does and man he calls some stupid plays often. Im no fan of Norv and id have fired him two years ago but our GM dont see it that way. Id have hired Rex over Norv when both were interviewed. Hell id have hired anyone in the group they talked to over Norv and that group also included Rivera. Rivers has a chest injury he suffered against NE and hasnt been right since. But of course they wont say to what extent it is a factor. He has 9 INTs now which he had the whole season in 2009 and 2008. Dont matter, the team just isnt good enough is the bottom line.
They had one which really makes you wonder. I guess they were saving it if they got in FG range but this team is the worst hurry up ive ever seen. They waste way too much time.
I had this thought when i watching today that if somehow rex got the Job in SD instead of Norv,he would probably have a ring or 2 by now. That team has always been loaded and poorly coached.

Come on, lets be fair. Norv was a good sport about the whole thing. You know rex was just having fun. Norv may have been p'd off at 1st but he gave it back to Rex pretty good. They looked like Norv put it behind him. That being said it would have been really bad had we lost.
Meh. I agree that Norv handled it well, but if we had lost, I wouldn't put the blame on Rex for making a dumb comment that he apologized for.
