The hypocrisy around this team right now is absolutely sickening. And when I say "around" this team, that is literally what I mean. I mean the media and the fans, and yes this board included. When they win, everybody sings to the tune of "ya gotta love the attitude that Rex brings to this locker room" and all the antics that go on are commended as "refreshing" and "exciting". Stop with the bull. Just STOP. There's only one thing that matters, and thats winning. Good team chemistry doesn't create winning...winning creates good team chemistry. The second this team loses a few games in a row, people start criticizing the same thing that they were previously giving credit for. I don't want Santonio to just shut up, I want the media and all of you to just shut up.
Stating the obvious. I think someone said it earlier- a win stops all this nonsense. When I visit Mo's in New York they have banner around their shops and it sums perfectly our love of our New York Teams- " Win and we love you". Enough said.
Jets fans want their team to be cocky, arrogant, and overconfident. That is not the same as publicly pointing fingers at each other and creating situations where there is obvious tension within the players and coaches. Sure, you can use the term "unfiltered" to describe both of those behaviors, but that doesn't mean it is hypocritical to want one and not the other.
I disagree, in the rest of the sportsworld it is well established that the best HCs (or the relevant term) create team chemistry and then win. Ryan is good at this but the way he manages put responsibility on the players to handle the freedom, something that obviously e.g. Scott, Mangold and Sanchez can handle but Holmes not. I do not think a win will be enough to stop this, as there are legitime concerns about this years set up.
I could care less if we were cocky or not. All I want to see is wins. Holmes needs to understand what being a Captain means. Play as a team, and things will improve.
unnecessary...in fact, i would argue the opposite. As a mets fan, i understand when situations are hopeless because i see it. You Yankee/Jets fans are so spoiled with your corporate empire, that with the Jets you become annoying as hell for us Mets/Jets fans to listen to. They lost 3 games.....relaaaaaaaaaaaax and let the season play out. Stop whining. I'm sick of hearing it.
JUST LEAVE THE JETS ALONE!! And they just didnt "lose a few in a row"....they lost 3 in a row and have looked like total dogshit all season except when they beat the highschool team from Florida. The D has been getting gashed and our offense has ZERO pop. Theres plenty to jump on them about... If it bugs you stop reading the fucking papers
Fuck the Patriots, enjoy your division title and another 1 and done. Were going to the AFC championship and I believe it will happen.
It's about time to quit with the "Relax and shut up, everything is going to be fine" threads. Even if we win tomorrow night we're still 2 games behind the Pats and in 3rd place in the AFC East with a 1-1 division record. If we lose we're 3 games behind the Pats and in 3rd place in the division with an 0-2 division record. It's week 6, so no, there's no need to go overboard and act like the season is over, but if you're not a little pissed about how things look at this point than you've got your head in the clouds. Once again the Pats are in full control of the division and we're going to have to play some serious catch-up just to vie for a playoff spot, much less home field advantage. And on top of that there seems to be some pretty real turmoil amongst the Jets players themselves. I'm no darksider but there is plenty to be worried about right now. You can't expect fans not to be unhappy.
We are not winning the division, lets be real. Its not going to happen until Brady packs his bags. Maybe the 3rd times a charm with the wildcard?
Attitude has nothing to do with winning. It's talent commitment and a great executable plan. The rest of it is all BS.
Most teams that are really successful for any length of time at the pro level have highly desciplined coaches that keep things close to the vest. They get a core group of players in who are good citizens and don't talk to much and have a strong commitment to the organization and winning. That's a fact. The mouthy attitude stuff is mostly counter productive.
