    Joe McKnight

Everytime he's on the field he's been making plays. Kickoffs, punt block, blitzing the QB even!

If now more than ever that the ground and pound ain't working because the offensive line isn't as strong, spread them out and let McKnight make plays with his shiftiness and speed. He can become our Darren sproles.

The ending of ground and pound means less work for Greene. His lack of speed just ain't working right now with the offensive line being a liability at this point.

I'm all for getting McKnight some touches. I think in open space he can really create. Unfortunately, he's not going to get ANY space behind our POS line, so why not set up a screen? Toss? Something out in the open with some time for a block or two to be set.

Wasnt he drafted with the intent on being the next Leon Washington?

I was hoping schitbag would put McKnight in for some dump off passes and screens to help ease the pressure on the OLine.

I was surprised that he didn't get any offensive snaps (IIRC).

McKnight has made some great plays on special teams, but that isn't a green light to get him in the backfield, or split out wide. That forced fumble was the result of a perfect form tackle. The KO returns are about blocking and knowing where to run. He broke a tackle on the touchdown return, but he isn't a one man team, and he isn't as awesome as Leon Washington (who is flourishing outside of Westoff's coaching). His skill level is more like Brad Smith, which is why he isn't on the field more often.

Let's see if he can continue to make plays on special teams and in his small role on offense throughout the season before we talk about handing the offense to him.

I swore he was in on one snap where they faked the reverse and he lined up at WR

    You sure that wasn't Kerley?

When everything else is going to shit, how can you not get Joe involved?

He essentially has 3 TD's this season, none from scrimmage. You can call 2 of them assists, but still...

I don't disagree. Would add another dimension to our Offense for sure. If teams are going to pin their ears back and try to kill our QB, why not attack that with screens? Isn't that what teams do to us?

Yep. I was disappointed we didn't use any screens early in the game. We tried one late, but LDT got tied up in a chip block.

The man has made one play w/ the ball in his hands.

LT has been great catching passes so would yuo substitute him for LT?

There aren't any holes to run through.

I think his touches will begin to increase but let's not base it on one KR please especially since no matter who we put back there we see KR TDs.

I agree that it's time to start getting our best playmaker involved.

But that guy isn't Joe McKnight, it's Santonio Holmes.

You have to assume he still can't block very well to not be getting any run on offense. He would fit right in with the line but it seems LT has been the one guy he has prevented Sanchez from getting decapitated so far.

I think that is the reason you do put him in now. Greene is very north/south, so with no holes, we don't get to use him at his best. McKnight can maybe get to the outside and find something. At this point, giving him more touches and Greene less wont hurt us (and I say this as a big Greene fan)

We tried one screen and the Ravens nearly killed Sanchez. The OL forgot they had to block for a second before running out wide. It was terrible execution. Glad we didn't see that again Sunday Night.
