Cimini is using ESPN's patented "dropped pass" ranking. It multiplies dropped catches by QB Hispanic heritage for a more accurate result.
Cmini is fucking hack. The thread "Jason Taylor: Henne is more talented than Sanchez" was basically an over reaction from Jets fans riled up by a half quote from Cmini purposely taking shit out of context. This guy has no professionalism but he doesn't give a damn because he grabs audience with big/false headlines & draws attention.
Cumberland has two drops but the teams overall is still the same. LT and Jeff both make this list. http://hosted.stats.com/fb/leaders.asp?type=Receiving&range=NFL&rank=232 Team ranks same as above. http://hosted.stats.com/fb/tmleaders.asp?type=Receiving&range=NFL&rank=232
I find the anti-Cimini gang mentality around here to be hilarious. He's a darksider, sure, but I actually think he's a Jets fan to some extent. You almost have to be after being being a beat writer for them so long. As for this dropped pass gaffe, I'm sure he'll get called out on twitter, we'll see what happens, I'm sure he had some kind of source, doubt he made it up.
I don't even think it's a gaffe, just two different sources trying to keep track of subjective plays. At least I think Scouts, Inc. and ESPN Stats are two different entities.
Breaking News. Cimini says something stupid. This does not happen on a daily basis, and I am shocked.
So you find disliking a guy who calls a new draft pick a druggie right after he's drafted hilarious? The guy is a scumbag who will do anything to get attention. Yea its his job, but I choose not to read or watch guys like him who go to the extreme to provoke a reaction. I'd rather read actual reporting than the Jerry Springer of the sports blogs.
Cimini is a hack. He's got naked pictures of somebody high up. Only explanation for how he keeps his job.
Cimini is a Jets fan, but a darksider and I decided that I had enough of it and stopped following him on Twitter. He usually posts the same things as Manish but with a much worse spin, so it's no use following him at all.
Any of these figures in the media that get tons of attention do so because of the outlandish things they say and write. Jim Rome, Skip Bayless, COlin Cowherd, Cimini is no different. And why do people pay attention to stuff like this in week 3? Small sample size.
You think the Cimini hate isn't due? I don't dislike Cimini because he's a darksider; I dislike him because he's a lazy journalist. There's no way somebody who's been around the beat as long as Cimini has should get repeatedly outshined by a noob like Mehta, but it happens week in, week out. "Take this to the bank: none of the Big Four will get new contracts in 2010." That's just lazy, speculative shit. I don't dislike it because it's darkside; I dislike it because it was spouted with supreme confidence and because it was wrong, which is a bad combo. It's the Cimini Combo.
