Your right. I'm sky high right now but with those NFC East teams banged up and playing inconsistently right now, I'm glad we get them the next few weeks. The O-line was a concern coming into the season, however they have been playing damn well. Only one sack given up this season and that was early in the KC game. My concerns right now is our lack of depth at WR. If Stevie J or Nelson (knock on wood) go down with an injury for a few weeks we would be screwed especially with Parrish being placed on IR. I'm still hoping to sign a vet like Donnie Avery or a possesion receiver like Justin Gage since Nelson has been excelling from the slot. Also our lack of a consistent pass rush will eventually bite us in the ass against some better QB'S. Still see us at 11-5 or 12-4.
lol I'm not that clever. Guess I should have revealed who the A and B teams were at the end of the post.
Born into this disease in 1987 and have been faithfully watching since i was a teenager and understood the game. Your not gonna pull the "well they started 5-1 in 2008 and look what happend" line are you?
The Bills impressed the shit out of me on Sunday with their resilience and offensive firepower, no doubt. Gotta give them credit. They're a pretty determined bunch, and they're playing with an excellent team mentality right now. But it's a little early to be saying they're bound for a 12-4 or 13-3 record. 1. If they keep spotting teams 20+ point leads, they won't be able to come back every week. 2. They've played two home games (both of which were the already-mentioned huge comebacks) and one road game against a terrible team. 3. Tom Brady doesn't have 4 INT games very often, and it took every single one of them for the Bills to pull out the win last weekend. 4. Defensively there are still a lot of questions. (Same can be said for the Patriots, I realize.) Don't get me wrong, they got the better of New England on Sunday and deserve props. It's just a bit early for the coronation ceremony.
As much as I wanna be optimistic I just can't buy into it yet. If we can't get some semblance of a pass rush (only 1 sack in 3 games) then we are ultimately pretenders...at best a fringe playoff team. Our run D had two huge tests to start the year and did pretty well, so that's encouraging. Our O-line has also been exceptional. Only 1 sack given up all year (Tamba Hali), while shutting out the Raiders D-line and Pats D in that regard. There's a lot of cause for optimism, but once again--no pass rush, no playoffs imho. We need Merriman to start juicing again.
If we can't get to Dalton atleast 3 times this week, I will be in full blown panic mode. As for Merriman, I don't know what the deal is. They havn't let him loose enough IMHO and he was held with no calls a few times against the Pats. Another play, he dove way too early and had his hands on Bradys ankle as he stood still and made the throw anyway.
Buffalo can't keep coming out of the gate flat and expecting to come back from 21 points the whole season... They were VERY close to a 1-2 record if it weren't for some late game heroics. Congrats on the 3-0 record but play a complete fucking football game before you go predicting 12-4... 13-3 records.
There's no point in trying to convince them BuffaloPsycho. It's a divisional teams fans and they will refuse to believe that the Bills are a good football team until they play them. The Pats fans all said the Bills were a fluke until Buffalo smacked them in the face and outscored them 34-10 in the final 20 minutes of the game. The Bills offense is scoring at will and confused the best QB in the game to the tune of 4 INT's. Anyone who wants to overlook that is simply being ignorant.
Simply being ignorant, huh? Did you watch the game? Not one of those INTs was caused by "confusion." They were poor throws and/or bad decisions. Still on Brady, but c'mon... it wasn't a defensive masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination. He threw four INTs but also put up nearly 400 yards and threw 4 TDs along the way. The INTs were: 1. Deflected off Woodhead's hands right to a defender. (Fluke.) 2. Tried to hit a fairly well-covered Ochocinco who made a lazy cut. (Bad decision.) 3. Tried to force one into a double-covered Gronkowski. (Bad decision.) 4. Deflected at the line and bounced right to a defender. (Fluke.) Everyone is giving Buffalo credit and props for a good game and good start to the season. I don't know why you're taking it as a slight that people are saying hold your horses on 13-3 or 14-2. Play a road game against a quality opponent first. Just be happy with the win and try not to gloat about being 3-0. There's a lot of football to play.
Interception number 4 was impressive. Marcell Dareus used his head to bounce that ball into the air on the other side of the hashmarks  Also if we don't get that first interception by Scott I don't think we win the game. Very easily could have been 28-7 if he doesn't make that play.
The old "headbutt" deflection? I'm pushing 40 so I remember the stretch of games when the Bills manhandled the Pats for like five years straight. The Kelly/Thomas/Reed teams... we could never beat you guys back then. Enjoy the ride no matter how it turns out. Lots of cause for optimism...
I agree. Bad throws all around. The one to Woodhead was too high, he never should have gone to Ocho on that play, he tried to force the ball to Gronk on a double-team, and the deflection was thrown too low. But none of those were the result of "confusion," as it had been stated. Just piss-poor execution on Brady's part, and some very good individual plays by some of the Bills defenders. When a QB doesn't properly recognize a coverage scheme pre-snap (like some of the games the Patriots have played against the Jets since '09), then they throw the ball not realizing what they're throwing it into. At this stage of his career, there are very few defenses that confuse Brady. Execution is entirely another thing though, and he did a really poor job of that last weekend.
Lions have so much talent on both sides of the ball. They are a true playoff contender. I'm taking the Bills more seriously after last week, but I still think they wind up missing the playoffs.
