I think we will keep Chad, but will pass on Cutler in the 1st round, and we won't trade up. I can see us taking Croyle in the 3rd or 4th.

We have no leader at the moment. It's an open competition. If Pennington beats out everybody competing for the QB spot he will re-emerge as our so called leader. Pennington has alot to prove to this organization. This is a critical juncture in his career and he doesn't have the homerism of Herm and Bradway to protect him. He's gotta' earn that sh!t again.

I agree with you on some levels. I can envision many scenarios where the Jets are better off with Bollinger behind center this year.

That one floored me a little, too. You could make a stretch on that argument about Abraham, but not Chad. Chad is just coping with some issues and some realizations right now. Other than that, he has been a total team player. If he could just master a 16 game season, everything would be great.

Well you can call it an open competition if you like, but Chad is obviously the best QB of the bunch when healthy. I don't think he has much to prove other than being able to stay healthy.

Mangini will not let Bollinger be his starter. He would start Rohan Davey first, or whatever his name is.

And as far as Chad goes, if you were asked to cut your pay from 8 million per to 1 million per, wouldn't you get more than a bit upset at management? I agree with supersonic, when healthy and protected, he is the best we have. I still think he will do something very good in his career before he walks away.

    Pennington 2 legs < Bollinger 1 leg

but legs dont win games...tell that to McNabb and Culpepper and Vick who havent won the big game yet...no Bollinger isnt that fast but he also isnt even remotely close to being in the same league for throwing...Edge to Penny!

Pennington wont last 3 games behind our new OL. We should carry 4 QBs this year b/c we may need em all.

Doesn't matter who plays QB. With our line shaping up the way it is, our QB's are going downhill faster than Bode Miller.

Yeah, Vanderbilt, that's a real college powerhouse! Cutlers mobility at Vandy=1250 yds. rushing. Bollinger at Wisc.=1900 yds. in the Big Ten, home of the running game. Pennington has the inside track but will have to prove alot more this training camp and Bollinger will push as hard as he can. A rookie will not start next season, period. The real key is RB cuz no one wins without a running game that takes some heat off the QB. Build the O-line of a winner and the Jets will win. Draft a "franchise" QB without a franchise team in front of him and you might as well start Namath.

Exactly. I love how year after year so many people want to put their faith, money and their franchise into a top draft pick that has proved nothing in the NFL.

We're going to be drafting talent to play with our remaining OL. 12 teams are in worse shape than the Jets, including several playoff teams. They are all going to be decimated by cuts as well. We can absolutely compete next year, and I don't want to dismiss an entire season with Brooks being our opening day starter. Whether it's Penny, Ramsey, Kitna, Cutler or Croyle, I want someone in there that is capable of winning games.
