Does anyone else think Saprano might be in trouble soon if the Phins don't sharpen up?
Honest to God what a pathetic home opener by the fish, to let the Pats run over them in their house basically signals that they have no shot even after week 1.

I know some people are ready to hail Brady and his mob as SB champs already but when you look back at the manhandling the Lions dished out to the Pats in pre season you would have suspected that the game last night might have been at least close.

I think the Jets have some tough hurdles to overcome this season if they want to win the division but please somebody give these chowder chewers a game.

The fish, I reckon they will lookiing for a new HC by November

As pathetic as we were, I don't see Sparano getting fired mid season. If no playoffs, he might be in trouble.

Dolphins defense definitely got their assholes ripped apart. As for Henne, he did look good, vs a almost as bad Pats D. Who knows what they were thinking at the safety position, and Henne had plenty of time.

About 150 of his passing yards were in garbage time so his stats are overblown, but good for him for not throwing a game killer INT.

If that were Sanchez I would be lobbying the NFL to not count picks like that, because it really should have a asterisk by it in the stat-line.

Without that single 99 yard TD to Welker the Pats D was every bit as horrible as Miami's but of course they will get a pass and all we hear about is Brady's 500 yards. I am sure Ryan and every other coach is salivating though.

I clicked this link fully expecting to see a .gif of Sparano wildly fist-pumping at the end of the first half when Gostkowski missed that 47 yard field goal.

    Too early to crucify Sparano...yet.

But next week they got Houston, who can throw up a 40 bagger just as easily as Brady and co. can if they don't get the pass defense fixed.

Now you're coming out the gate 0-2 at home staring down San Diego and the Jets with nothing but a must-win Cleveland game in between.

1-4 start and they'll be sharpening the pitchforks.

The Dolphins killed themselves with penalties, and what was pretty obvious was that their defense was totally gassed by the middle of the third quarter. Sure they were on the field a lot, and the Patriots kept them from subbing with the no-huddle, but to see such a disparity just in the two teams' basic fitness level was pretty ridiculous. If I was Sporano's boss that's what would piss me off the most. His guys were out of shape and not ready, and should have had the advantage of working and practicing in a much warmer climate.

I also don't mind minor celebrating on the field, but Sporano takes it a little too far. When you're high-fiving and fist-pumping with that much excitement after going up 7-0 in the first quarter, you're bound to look like an ass later in the game.

It will be best for us if they fire him mid-season because that means Rob Ryan won't be their new coach. I hope they do but for that reason I think they won't. I suppose they might try to entice Cowher too. Neither is good.

Ha! Yea that was pretty funny.
I should also apologise for my bad on the coach's name; "Saprano"- I'm a big Soprano's fan- great to see James Gandolfini at the game Monday!

Agreed. Belly's decision to run the no-huddle was smart and killed the Dolfags.

Every team will look like a pee wee team against the Patriots... they are an elite team that should have a league unto themselves.

Did you catch Gruden saying the Patriots had a conditioning advantage "because they're an East Coast team?"

I'm pretty sure that guy does some hard drugs.

Wait a sec, I know what you're doing here.

The Patriots are OK, but they're no match for the Jets.

    (Reverse-reverse jinx in play.)

    Nice try..................

No team with Gronkowski on its roster can ever hope to reverse jinx anyone. Gronkowski alone is worth 15.5 wins................

It's never too early to bash a rival's coach.

It is if I want them to give him a lifetime contract extension and start Henne for the next decade.

They racked up a bunch of points and should have gotten more against one of the only teams capable of scoring even more. Against teams with average offensive capabilities they'll be plenty competitive. I wouldn't panic just yet.

I dunno. The Miami corners looked like they thought there were rules against playing their receivers with any pressure.

THe D did start getting Brady a bit, though. Eventually.
