This was discussed earlier in the preseason. Rex said we will throw more, but this team needs to run the football.

Well when they're missing their top 3 corners you'd be stupid not to throw it to take advantage of that. It's not like the pass game wasn't working.

While I tend to agree, we jsut won a game were we averaged 2.8 yards a carry, Mark completed 59% of his passes, and our defense was not great shut down great, but made a few big plays.

This was a team wide win and I'm happy to see no phase of the game had to carry us tonight. The running game will come and I'm happy as hell to see mark help carry the team instead of the other way around.

We were down double digits for a good portion of the game.

lack of running tonight was disturbing, even when we weren't digging ourselves out of a hole. we need to shelve the experiment. let's get back to the 50/50, or MAYBE 41/59, but don't let it get worse than that

Depleted Dallas secondary plus double digit deficit meant they had to pass.

Agreed though....I'd like to see the run game get going next week.

They were losing a majority of the game, so its tough to kill them for it.

Greene was running well earlier. Im confident that if we get a lead our running game will produce better. Tough when you are down 2 scores majority of the game. LT also had what over 70 yards receiving.

WTF was up with that last series? Leaving time on the clock and not running the ball to give Folk an easier kick?

We were throwing too much from the beginning before we were down big. I would have rather seen the Jets run more in the beginning to get Sanchez in rhythm. He has a problem with getting too jittery in the beginning of games.

Also, I can't for the life of me understand why the Jets don't run the no-huddle more often. Sanchez is much better throwing out of it.

absolutely agree with this. He needs fast-paced action to get into his rhythm, and he's shown that time and again. Why not give the kid what he wants!

Honestly, I thought we should have tried to exploit their defense downfield sooner.

I agree we need to run the football a little more. But what was with all the runs out of shotgun?? that was getting a little old....

Because Schottenheimer doesn't want to give away any authority on the offense?

It was a 50 yard kick. It was hardly a gimme.
AFCCG at Pittsburgh??? Gotta go for one 1st down there, I think.

They'll run the football more next week. How can you not exploit the Cowboys depleted secondary? If you run it more (which were doing unsuccessfully anyway) then people complain we didn't pass enough against the injured backs. Can't have it boths ways. Schotty deserves credit for this game.

    This.

This will not be the norm. Trust us who are saying what I quoted above.

Things will be normal next week. Run the fuck out of the football.

I can't wait to kill the Jags next week.

Hopefully we can get way ahead and just run the ball 40 times next week, get McKnight some work and Greene 20+ carries.

If we have problems next week, it could be cause for serious concern though. Maybe the loss of Woody is a much bigger problem than we realized.
