I really dont wanna see this guy go...hes the man. I think hes progressed alot for being a 6th round pick. Hes fast, athletic and is better than ramsey IMO. Ramsey doesnt come close to how good Brooks is. Yes Ramsey has more talent but has been a bust. Brooks is home grown, just like coles was (im not talking about ricky williams) my point is, either keep 4 QBs or cut Ramsey because Brooks deserves to be on this team.
He was a 6th round pick. We're not keeping 4 QBs. It's Ramsey vs Brooks. And I'd be disappointed if Ramsey couldn't beat Brooks out. Brooks should be a #3 QB somewhere, but not here.
Arguing for Bollinger is whistling against the wind in this forum, but you can make a case for him, as I've tried to, by spotlighting his last six starts last season. To paraphrase what I wrote in an earlier post, in the last six games of 2005, Bollinger completed 98 passes in 172 attempts for 1,085 yards and a completion rate of 58%. He also ran for 111 yards, 56 of them in the win against Oakland. The knock against Bolly is he didn't throw many TDs (just five in those last six games, versus two interceptions), but he was hobbled by a bad O-line (sacked 19 times) and a sporadic rushing attack. Still, he only coughed up one fumble in those six games. Against Miami, who sacked him six times, Bolly threw for over 300 yards, the first QB to do so in over a year. I think a lot of those who simply want to see Bollinger cut now, with no further examination, harbor bad feelings about the terrible 2005 season and just don't want a short, low-round pick who got his big start during a bum year hanging around and stinking up the team. I can remember when that guy was Wayne Chrebet.
Bollinger shouldn't make this team. He will be a #3 somewhere else. Ramsey just signed an extension. I just can't see Bolly making this team.
I'd pay to get George Jetson back on this board for Bolly's last hurrah... Once I got past his schtick, that guy made me laugh a lot.

anyway - Bollinger is a tough, smart kid - and I like him. However, he doesn't really have the tools to be a starting NFL quarterback. That said, I would prefer him to be the backup to Clemens over Pennington or Ramsey if and when Clemens takes over as #1.
Brooks really has that Brady aura about him, I believe he just wont get to that point for another two seasons.
I said it before and I will say it again, Bollinger + a CS that believes in him and a decent Oline = a Bollinger that we have yet to see.
