BEREA, Ohio -- Pro Bowl center LeCharles Bentley sustained an injury to his left knee during the Browns' first 11-on-11 drill of training camp on Thursday.

Bentley got tangled in a pile of players as he was blocking on a running play for Reuben Droughns.

Bentley screamed, "No," before remaining on his knees as the Browns moved their scrimmage up the field so trainers could attend to the 6-foot-2, 309-pound player.

He stayed on the ground in a seated position for several minutes before Cleveland's medical staff immobilized his left knee and carted him to the locker room.

Bentley covered his face with a towel on the short drive to the field house as Browns players and fans looked on in shock.

The extent of Bentley's injury is not yet known.

Bentley, a five-year veteran, signed as a free agent with the Browns in March.

Too bad, he is a great player, this will hurt the Browns tremendously, hopefully his career is alright

Nothing worse than major training camp injuries. Here's hoping it's just a sprain or something relatively minor....

As a Jets fan, I no longer have any sympathy for injured players on other teams.

Unless a guy dies like Korey Stringer, I don't care.

People have had a lot of fun making fun of the Jets in 1999, 2003, and 2005. Heck, look at all the Jets fans that do it, like that noodle poster.

At least he got his Signing Bonus.....

    Brown's fans....welcome to our world.

I would have probably fainted if I were the coach and I heard him of all people scream in the 1st play of a scrimmage.

I hear ya, but training camp injuries just suck. If it happens during the regular season, those are the breaks. But I still feel bad when players go down in the preseason or training camp, especially major stars. It sucks for the team, the fans and the NFL in general. The recent Jet losses that come to mind are Chad as you mentioned, and let's not forget Marvin Jones in 98, although that campaign turned out okay. I hear what you are saying but I still don't like it....

I dislike it very much, particularly if a skill position player gets injured.

But I've seen it so much now, that I don't like to get worked up over it anymore, like when I got pissed off when Allen Pinkett tore up his knee in camp with the Saints, as one example.

And non-Jets fans are always quick to laugh about Jets injuries, so I'm not going to feel upset about other teams.

The one thing about a camp injury, though, is that the team has more time to find a replacement.

^Yeah, heard that late today on the radio. Buh-bye - knee torn out. I hate to see anyone hurt. A shame. I know these things are flukes by and large, but the what the hell? Are they that out of shape that the second they move, plant themselves or have anyone breathe on them, it's all over? Probably more the fluke thing, but still. I don't know what irks me more - TC injuries or pre-season game injuries. I shudder to think of the possiblilty of losing someone big *cough!* Chad vs. Giants *cough!* in pre-season *cough!* Holy Cr*p, that stroll down Memory Lane just gave me a full body rash.

I think that with him maybe it was a matter of planting, and then some 300 pound maloop falls on his leg at an odd angle.

That really does suck though, especially for someone with his talent.

This definitely sucks for Bentley and the Browns. With him and Schaffer, I really thought the Browns O-line would be much improved and take their team to new heights. This is a shame.
