    I'm didn't say he'd be good for the wildcat cause he's black, I said it cause he rushed for over 1000 yards and threw for almost 6000 yards at Ohio State.

    And I didn't say he'd only be good for the wildcat, I said he'd be a more than capable backup QB as well.

    Thanks for putting words in my mouth though.

    It's yet to be seen how much we're going to use the Wildcat this season (with Sanchez in his third year maybe they don't need as many gimmick plays?), and even when we had B. Smith running it last year he almost never threw the ball. Also, we already have a promising young WR/KR who looked pretty competent running it in preseason.

    Having Smith run the Wildcat is an intriguing thought, I just don't think it's a big enough part of what the Jets do that they would go get a guy just for that purpose.

    Troy Smith isn't even a wildcat qb, he doesn't have that type of running ability... terrible thread.

    I think this is redundant use of a roster spot. We have guys that can do all these things already. The space is better used for a versatile DB or OL.
