MARK CANNIZARO: You have been anti-Jet for as long as I can remember! You slant and twist every article you write and never tell the verifiable truth! You took on the kid rather then going after the man who imposed the gag order!!!!!!!! That is wrong! I have urged JETS fans on every fan board to BOYCOTT the NY POST and to tell your editior why the BOYCOTT is in effect. You must be stopped!

My name will be supplied on demand!

I sent the above e-mail to the man! If his editior saw a decline in the bottom line CANNIZARO would be reined in!

I'm like a crack addict. I CAN'T give up my New York Post. I just can't do it.

Once you get over the idea of reading the thing as a NEWSpaper, and you concentrate on the sublime humor of the thing, you just can't live without it. I read it online, but I also go out of my way to find it on the news stand.

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful.

I hate the Post as a periodical in the first place. It's a poorly written dishrag, and it's only purpose for existence is to be Murdoch's personal soapbox platform.

My original signature said "Boycott the Post and Daily News." I should never have to proofread a newspaper to get through all of it, that's what editors get paid for. To top it off, they write sensationalistic crap, and refer to it as "news."

F the Post and the News.

    AMEN.

But I've picked up the New York Sun lately, and it's a quality newspaper. For those who are conservative minded and don't feel like lugging around a big hulking WSJ, the Sun is the way to go. Pretty good sportswriters too.

    Just a thought.

As a reporter, Cannizaro is completely justified. Ferguson acted like a clownshoe.

The only reason I would ever consider boycotting the Post would be for their continued employment of Steve Serby, master of the bad pun.

BAHH!!!! Bite your freaking tongue!! I still haven't found out what kind of pie Jericho Cotchery likes; or whether Kellen Clemens saw Pirates of the Caribbean. He's doing God's work. Let the man work.

In truth, I would actually PAY the New York Post to let me write a Serby column some day. I've been training for the job all my life, and I'm willing to bet that I could write it, and nobody would even know that it wasn't him. Extend a few metaphors. Twist a few cliches. Add a few goofy non sequiturs, and your there!

He acted like a clownshoe, simply because he did what his coach told him to do?

His coach told him to run away from the media?

Derrick Blaylock was talking to the media at the time. Did they institute some kind of media rule?

I remember reading last year that New England rookie offensive lineman aren't allowed to speak with the media. But it wasn't a team rule; just a rule set down by the elder lineman. Maybe this is the same deal. Maybe the kid just didn't want to get the stuffing beat out of him.

Geez, I wish the beat writers would do their job and figure out what going on here.

One would assume that if it is being discussed that a number of vets are now facing fines for talking to the media, he was expressly forbidden to do it.

And given that another article actually quoted Ramsey as saying that "I can't do it" when asked for a quick word, on top of Bolly ducking them as well, I am pretty sure these guys have been told they may speak when given express permission.

Check out the other thread about Canizzarro, there is a second article on page two of the thread talking about Mickens spending time with the media. He faces a fine now.

What? Do their jobs? How dare you! :eek:hmy:

That would mean Canofsorrow would have to put down the twinkie-topping pizza, take one last swig of the green Kool-Aid Herm left him, and move his ass. You are asking way too much now!

I look at the post the same way I do the Fox News Channel. If you look at it as entertainment and not news, its actually pretty amusing.

I heard Canizzarro on the Stephen A Smith show on ESPN during my lunch hour and sadly enough Brandon Tierney the supposed "die hard jets fan" didn't call him out at all. Tierney basically just said he "disagreed with only about 10% of the article". The entire story was trash as far as I'm concerned, the article was totally about Canizzarro and the media and not the New York Jets. Even during the interview itself, Canizzarro kept talking about himself and how long he'd been with the jets instead of focusing on the team like he's paid to do. He needs a serious reality check, we care about the team, NOT the reports who cover it.

Cannizzaro has been the best beat writer for years, I think he has been mostly fair BUT I think he's right in thinking what he wrote but he doesn't understand that fans don't care how dificult they make it for the reporters.
