I won't miss him. All the INT's he had someone else could of done if they were in the same situation. Its not like he had 80 tackles.
Ryan said in his presser that they traded him so he could play..obviously that means he wasn't going to play here so good, we got something for one of the cuts.
how did you interpret this one incorrectly? Lowery wasn't going to get cut, he was going to see very limited snaps this season. They traded him to a team where he can play more than 14 snaps in a game. Good deal for everyone. I'm not sure how often this occurs - a team allows a player to go somewhere else so he can succeed, rather than being a good backup on the team he currently plays for. Its a great gesture from the Jets.
They say things like that all the time. It's obvious that he wasn't going to get time here anyway. He definitely wasn't going to be cut though, Lowery was a great backup.
Won't miss him. Did some good things, but so did other JAG's. Right now, the OLine backup is precedent over backup safety. Vlad just isn't ready (now or ever).
JAG, but ill be pissed if we traded him for a backup 6th round lineman from the packers. He's worth at least a six, and i wouldn't give up anything more than a conditional 7th to the packers.
The answer to this thought is ..Cook, Emanuel Cook. This guy was added to roster late last season & has been coming on like a{JET}. lol. THis guy has good speed & is a fierce tackler & player. #27... watch this guy. Always around ball. Will soon be a starter.
Lowery was a good/decent player since he became a Jets. Made more good plays than bad plays. He just lacks speed. Emanuel Cook has a better upside, so Jets were smart enough to get something in return for a 3yr experienced player. Better than cutting him & getting nothing in return.
Emotionally...He's one of us, but NFL is super competitive. Emanuel Cook is potential future starter & Kyle Wilson will be a better FS than CB. So Jets have enough depth at that position.
I've been watching him this preseason & he has done nothing to impress me whatsoever, Rex must feel he has potential because if he was being judged by his play he would have been let go.
I liked Lowery a lot but always thought he was just a step off being a truly good solid corner. I wish him well and will always remember some good moments from him especially his pick 6 against Favre last year to seal our win at the inaugural TGG tailgate.
well the Jets have done it twice this offseason. By it, I mean whats best for a guy, as opposed to the team. Jerricho and Lowery. Would have been better for us to keep both, but we let them move on because it was better for the individual that they move on, instead of being stuck here with limited reps...
Corners in # Order #1 Darrelle Revis #2 Antonio Cromartie #3 Kyle Wilson #4 Donald Strickland #5 Marquice Cole. Add in Pool who is pretty good in coverage, and those guys alone are not bad. Losing Lowery doesn't make us worse.
You can only compare Cook to the other Jers secondary members. Compared to who the Jets have & the guys they cut, he stood out to me, especially on special teams.
I've been looking everywhere but can't find it. Does anyone know the actual compensation for either trade?
