My thought is he must have looked atrocious, if the Cowboys couldn't even find a spot for him at guard. I believe they're going to start a 7th rounder at guard.

We better get somebody before the season starts. We lack OL depth and that is a very big concern right now.

Good O line depth is a problem around the league and not just with the Jets. It won't be easy to just pick someone else up from the cuts this weekend. Lots of O line injuries and problems. Ravens are unsettled on the O line, Vikings have huge holes at the tackle spots. Steelers had two tackles go out in Game 1, Cowboys are starting rookies and cut their center, Bears are shuffling guys all over the line, Saints were ecstatic to pick up Kruetz, Seahawks had Okung get injured in Game 1. Bottom line is just about everyone wants to pick up O line depth and alot of teams are thin at this unit. Turner should be back after the bye so if the interior guys stay healthy until then we should be fine.

The league may well be as you describe it, but something tells me the Jet FO will try and get some help in.

I'd rather the Jets try to sit on what we have(More for next years cap). we have some flex ability with our cap. If we can last till turner comes back I think everything will be fine

Of course they will try and as well they should but so will more than half the league. It's not a given that adequate OL depth can be addressed at cut down day with so many teams potentially in the market for it. Add the Packers to the list that are unsure/uncomfortable with their OL depth.

still, why not grab him if possible?

He can play center or guard both fairly well.

imho the cowboys cutting him was a cost saving move (5.5 mil by cutting him) and i guess they're high on that other kid at center.
