    oline depth..whos available?

Turner looks banged up and Ducasse..well we need someone to abuse after Gholston and unfortunately this kid looks lost.

Not sure there is a great deal available I think we will have to pick someone up when the roster cuts are announced but the one guarantee is that Ducasse cannot be our back up tackle this year....no fecking way unless we want Sanchez to turn into a 2011 version of Richard Todd towards end of his career.

Anyone have any ideas of UFA who were signed etc that may be good pick ups?

Our first unit is elite but...if turner is out the drop off is Grand Canyon like.

Jon Stinchcomb was released by the Saints today. He's a RT, but would provide depth at OT. If Brick were to go down, Hunter could slide over to LT and Stinchcomb could go in at RT, or perhaps Stinchcomb could go in at LT. Either of them would be infinitely preferable to Ducasse.

The number 2's weren't awful most of the sacks with them out were due to Vlad not getting off the ball

Noticing that Vlad, well, still has a way to go and some of the tackles as well I think that we could use the 7 million to sign a veteran O-lineman.

These are not all of them! Just some who stood out to me.

    Tackles

    Shawn Andrews (7 Seasons)
    Bryant McKinnie (9 seasons)
    Chester Pitts (9 seasons)
Max Starks (7 seasons) I personally wouldn't touch this guy, seeing we burned him last year but thats just me and probably why I'm not a head coach
    Jonathan Stinchcomb (8 seasons)
    Walker Langston (9 seasons)

    Guards
    Kevin Boothe (5 Seasons)
    Leonard Davis (10 seasons)
    Rich Seubert (10 Seasons)
    Brian Waters (11 seasons)

    Centers

    Eric Heitmann (9 seasons)
    Shaun O'Hara (11 seasons)

Now I'm not saying sign any of these guys to a 5 years deal just a year or 2 and hopefully spread their knowledge to the upcoming lineman. We have 7 million, why not use it

Yea because Woody is going to leave ESPN after one day in order to come back as a back-up.

O'Hara could be worth a shot though.

I think we'll be fine at C/G with Turner and some young guy... however Ducasse CANNOT be our backup T and someone should be brought in at that position.

One of the beat writers said they saw rex mouthing "other players heard a pop" when turner went down. If he's gone for an extended period of time the Jets basically have 5 starters that are solid and no backups. Fortunately because of the bizarre off season more lineman are free agents and the 53 player cut down should produce some options.

Ducasse and Kroul are basically projects. I don't think anyone would feel good about either of them playing much this year.

How about Nick Kaczur? He didn't play last year so health is an issue but he's a veteran OT who knows the AFC East and, as a benefit, knows the Pats' protection schemes.

We need to pray Turner is ok, because he can backup all 3 interior positions obviously. If we lose him, we need a guy who can do that AND a guy who can backup both tackle spots because Ducasse is a lost cause right now. I'm not saying he can't be a player in the future, but for a team trying to win a SB this year, we can't have him out there protecting our QB.

I'm pretty sure Seubert played all 3 inside spots for the Giants, right? He's not that good anymore, but as a backup we could do worse..

Moore and Mangold are fine and could have played last night. If Turner isn't hurt bad and will be back by week one we are more than fine.

A team usually only keep eight O-linemen on the 53 man roster with two on practice squad.

    Active Roster:
    LT D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Dennis Landolt
    LG Matt Slauson, Dennis Landolt
    C Nick Mangold, Robert Turner
    RG Brandon Moore, Robert Turner
    RT Wayne Hunter, Vladimir Ducasse

I kept Landolt, only because he is the 3rd best player who can go LT behind Ferg and Hunter on the team and I don't trust Ducasse at LT protecting Sanchez's blind side.

    PS players:
    Matt Kroul
    Robby Felix

A stretch would be Chris Stewart who has size but not much else. He is not as physically strongfor his size, very very slow and does not have the college starting experience Landolt has.
