Is anyone worried that we don't have a reliable backup kicker? What if the super bowl came down to a last second FG, and Folk pulls a hammy while running on the field for the FG? I mean, we don't even have the great Suh...
I don't get it. Backup QB is an important position, and you guys are shitting all over it. So dumb. I'll be Eagles fans are happy Vick was their backup the last 2 years. Or Jeff Hostetler for the Giants. Or VINNY TESTAVERDE for the Jets.
The Jets have Mark Brunell and just drafted what looks to be a smart, accurate passer in the draft. Should they go ahead and sign Kyle Orton to be a backup? 1. There is no fucking money 2. There are competent backups in place 3. Who gives a shit
The op doesn't rate Brunell, so he's worried about what would happen if Sanchez went down, which god forbid, but it is a possibility. You think Brunell is competent, so you aren't worried, and that's fine. But the original idea isn't as ridiculous as some are making out.
There's not even enough QBs in the league for every team to have a quality starter, and you want a starting caliber QB to ride the bench?
Brunell can still throw the ball. He can come in & play fine for a game or two. He's not elusive enough to start for a whole season, but he's a serviceable vet that I have using in an emergency. In reality, if pretty much any team's starting QB missed extended time, that team is screwed. If a team has a pretty good backup, that probably means they don't have much faith in their starting QB.
I'm going to have to stop chiming in here, or people will begin to suspect I am the op with a second account... But where did he say he wants a starting calibre quarterback to back up Sanchez? If you make stuff up it just weakens your own argument.
Thats not true at all. Some teams back ups have stepped up and won key games, playoff games and Championships - other times not so much.
You're giving yourself too much credit--You're making a dung beetle look bad by comparing yourself to it.
