This is an under the radar deal that was important to get done. He filled in great last year periodically for Mangold.. plus Moore has an injury so he's good insurance for that. Also, with the loss of Hartstock, we could could him used as a blocking tight end more often like we started to last year. He was also used to play special teams and some defensive line in goalline situations. Very useful player all around.
Hip surgery... not a problem, he'll be fine. Turner is nice insurance and a great additional blocker who already knows the playbook. I thought him and Wayne Hunter to be two of our most important UFAs ahead of Holmes, Cro, Ellis and Edwards.
Agreed. We don't have much depth (in terms of number of players) on the OL so a guy like Turner that can play effectively the 3 interior positions is very important. Hunter was also important for the jumbo packages and in case Ducasse still isn't ready to start at RT.
Coach: We need to get gholston into something. Rex: And I got the perfect guy in mind. Put Turner on it, he don't give a fuck. Turners always starting shit on the field. He gets into it with everyone which is awesome. Filled in well last year as someone already said. Totally underrated signing.
