I didn't really read your post the first time I came in here, but do you honestly think the Bills will go 10-6?
4-9 in games actually played. They give up and forfeit the last 3 games, bringing them to 4-12. Which will be just enough wins to keep them from getting the #1 draft pick. On a positive note, the new uniforms are slightly cuter.
Again, the Bills are not expected to do much by most, and as usual I have high hopes. What the hell, they'll go 12-4. I'll be proven wrong once they lose their fifth game so at the very least I won't be incorrect until 10/9 vs PHI.
I wonder if the Bills will meet the new "salary floor." Will they have a $105 mil payroll? Is there some kind of penalty if they don't? I thought they were way under the cap so why not go all in on Tyson Clabo or Cullen Jenkins or somebody? Not that I ever want the Bills to win any games, ever, but sometimes I wonder what goes on in sunny Buffalo.
I think if absolutely everything goes to plan for Buffalo they have a shot at 9-7. Expect them to be in the 6-8 wins bracket though.
The Bills offered the most for Clabo, he just didn't want to be in Buffalo. BTW, the salary floor doesn't happen until 2013..... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/30/per-team-spending-minimum-doesnt-apply-until-2013/
Thanks for the article! Didn't know floor didn't kick in until 2013. Also, this part makes it seems like it should be fairly easy to meet the floor on a yearly basis even if the team salary doesn't exactly rise to meet the floor:
These are the 2 most optimistic Bills fans I know. I live in Rochester and I'm sorrounded by suicidal fans. You should have seen the response when they signed Brad Smith. "Can he block? Can he Rush the passer? What do we need him for?" I don't know -- because you are 40 million dollars under the cap and the offense/ST need a spark. Not to mention you have to overpay ANYONE to play in that City. I work at a TV station here so I know most of the Buffalo/Rochester Bills beat writers. Out of all of the guys at camp every day and who follow the team religiously the best prediction I heard was 8-8. IMO That's pushing it. Their defense needs a HUGE turnaround. I don't see that happening for some time. 6-10 Jets fans -- as bad as we thought Gholston was... Aaron Maybin is worse.
I didn't like the Brad Smith signing at first either until we got Barnett. I rather we have went after a RT or TE first before getting our "3rd QB/6th WR/3rd KR. But perhaps if we run the wildcat a bit more often and after a few succesful plays, im welcome it a bit more. He'll never see action as a WR unless we have some injuries. I think our run defense will be MUCH improved this year. With Dareus and Kyle Williams, our D-line is now a strength. The secondary is still in tact minus Whitner (George Wilson is better anyway) and the only real weakness we have IMO is depth at ILB. Hopefully Merriman pans out and Barnett stays healthy. Offense will all rely on the progression of Fitz. It will be his first year starting a whole season, he showed lastr year he is worthy of a shot. My only worry is at RT. We have NOBODY there. And yes, Maybin is by far the bigger bust!!
I can't look down that schedule and see a single game that the Bill "should win." There really isn't any point trying to guess how many games they won't win.
I hope they go 2 - 14...both wins coming by beating the dolfags. Then we can see all the "buffalo is better than people think" threads at fagheaven
So Phillys got you scared? I only pick them out because besides them you have the Bills going undefeated at home...You honestly believe that? How many home games are going to Canada this year? You arent leaving much margin for error.
