Phillies not a Super Bowl favorite at all, I dont even see them going to the playoffs. Vick played terrible down the stretch and if it wasnt for a huge chokejob by the Giants they wouldnt have made it. Vicks been exposed imo and his early season wonders from last year are over. Teams kno how to stop him generally. We will see though.
The Eagles are incredibly overrated. In fact, I can't think of a more overrated, over-hyped team going into a season in a long time.
I think they'll win that division, but check out the lead story on the nfl.com homepage. "Building the 'Dream Team.' How Did They Do It?" Jason Babin! Cullen Jenkins! Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie!!! Relax nfl.com. Not exactly Jordan, Magic, and Bird. EDIT: Post #1000 bitches!!! What do I win?
Um,he just got paid. So he said something nice about the team that gave him his money. Even if what he said isn't what he really feels.
All I know about Philly is they are one knee injury from a shitty season... I hope one of our guys deliver the hit...
Philly has some really talented players at key positions and are no doubt a contender, but seeing them called "the Miami Heat of the NFL" is fuckin absurd. Their OL is a problem, and while Vick masks that problem slightly, it's still a collasal concern for any team hoping to go deep in the tournament. Also, everyone is assuming Vick repeats his MVP-calibre performance from last year. To me, that's another X-factor -not a given. Like others have mentioned, their LB corps isn't that good at all.
Philly is better poised b/c they play in a weaker division(as far as the top teams go) and a weaker conference so it would be easier to make the SB playing in Philly than playing here BUT I think we arebetter than Philly and will have just as good of a chance to reach Indy as Philly or any top team will.
Let ESPN hype them to holy hell...let them have an update blog specifically for the Eagles like Miami had the heat index. The Jets can finally go slightly under the radar and just play football while ESPN will be crying Armageddon when the Dream Team loses a game.
But its not even slightly. Its just out of the news for 3 days. With cro resigned, now their back in the news.
You can't just look at the sack number and say The O-line sucks. Moblie QB's often get sacked more. Take the case or Big Ben in Pittsburgh. Instead of making the dumpoff or throwing away, he holds the ball longer and trys to make a play, when it works its great and when not he's on his ass yet again. Its not the O-lines fault he often holds the ball 6 seconds or longer and no one can block forever, unless they are single blocking Gholston. Brady or Manning are getting rid of the ball quickly 99 times out of 100. Vcik and Ben will hang on to it forever risking yard loss and injury for big rewards.
What difference does it make. How the hell would Aso know what a SB bound team looks like coming from Oakland anyway.
