I was with you until the Francesa thing. I'm a Mets and Jets fan, so I hate the shit out of Francesa. Just utterly annoying to me. Since I've moved to Florida though, I haven't listened to the radio down here at all, I don't think I could deal with listening to Marlins and Dolphins bullshit all day long.
1050 sucks. They constantly fuck over LaGreca, and he's the only guy that can actually host a sports-talk show. Lupica talks like he writes; he's a whiny little bitch who has his head up his ass.
So fucking true. His interviews last year with Sanchez had this closeted gay vibe that were just creepy too. He's terrible when he talks football.
Got XM radio and the NFL network a year ago. I don't even know where the AM button on my radio is now. 660 and 1050 are painfully boring all year long and don't miss them for a minute. Both stations are 75% Yankee talk and the football talk is limited to anti-Jets vitriol from Francesca and over the top hysteria from Beningo on 660 to pure ignorance on 1050 from the likes of Kay. The NFL network is the answer.
Mack- On the money as usual!From an international perspective wfan is good listening if you can tune out some of Carton's nonsense- Joe and Evan are usually in touch with what's going on and whether you like Joe or not his Jets cred is impeccable.
No way Sid Rosenberg is friggin awesome. He talks so much crazy smack to Doplhin fans I'm amazed they haven't burnt down the studio to get rid of him. And when bad shit happens to the Dolphins 560 is priceless. Like right now.
1050 used to be good but all their good radio hosts left .... Max Kellerman, Stephen A Smith (altho hes partially back) , BT ... these dudes where real new yorkers so they had a feel for the city and its fans, now 1050 is worthless except for Ryan & Lumberg
I am still amazed that 1050 fired or replace Jodi Mac and Brandon Tierney! I really enjoyed listening to those guys in the afternoons! Wfan is what it is in the afternoons ?Francessa is UNlistenable if that is even a word. The guy has his own agenda and can not keep his feelings / opinions seperate from his work . I enjoy Evan and Joe when I am able to listen-----but all this said Lupica blows ! I honestly cannot listen to Lupica so I don't. I was actually happy years ago when FAN got rid of him and I will be happy when he is replaced on 1050. Kaye in the afternoons is not great but it is better than the alternative because honestly Francessa leaves me no choice , I will not listen to WFAN when Mike is on.
true story----had 1050 ESPN on today---------I honestly listened to Lupica for about 5 minutes ,,,,Lupica says and I quote " Lets take some calls ,Next up on the FAN Wayne from New Jersey" some silence and Lupica says "I was only kidding " to the guys on the air with him,,, but Wayne from Jersey was on the air making his point or asking his question-------------Lupica is FOOL--unlistenable

Used to like Mac and Sid,then Mike and the mad dog in the afternoon. 1050 was good on the ride home after the jet game,but that's about it.
The ones I like across both stations: - BT, Jodi Mac, LaGreca, Wischusen, Bill Daughtry, Vinny Cerrato - Boomer and Carton, Joe and Evan (annoying but passionate New Yawkas) Francesa should get a half hour show for comic reliefrk EDIT: ppl say that 1050 comes in staticky. I notice the exact opposite. 1050's usually clear while 660 sounds like dogshit. I live 15 min from the city and work 40 min west of the city. Maybe it's a south joisey thing
