I know a ton of people are down on our free agency period big time after the Asomugha fallout. Sure the let down of not getting him sucks, but the fact that we pretty much missed the bulk of the big signings (you have to remember this FA period is being drastically accelerated due to the lockout) as well as neglected our own due to waiting on Aso hurts the most. So forgetting about all that shit, what viable moves could we make this week that would suddenly make you feel like we were a winner in free agency this year ? And is there a realistic way we could go into this season feeling as good as we did going into last ? (ie how excited everyone was having Cromartie and Holmes) Truthfully my "best case" scenario would be us landing Cromartie at 8 million a year or less (im most doubtful at this) or to a lesser degree Chris Carr, Cullen Jenkins for a reasonable price, TY Warren for vet min, Darren Sharper Cheap, plus whichever bargain WR we could get a deal on (Moss, Plax, JJ, Floyd).
GO GET ZACH MILLER NOW YOU DOUCHEBAGS!!!! stop chasing these scrubs at WR Keller/Miller double te or keller split out run or pass it would add a WHOLE new dimmension to the offense. well partially make up for losing Braylon. what better way to get sanchez completion percentage up
Bray Edwards Only guy I care about right now in F/A. Hopefully it still works out. We were all about trading and bargaining last year with our restrictions with the final four clause. So what is the problem this year? I do not get it..
Cro/Floyd Cro/Plax Cro/Moss A lot of people have mentioned Carr but I think he's a serious downgrade from Cromartie. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stat-analysis/2011/best-cornerback-charting-stats-2010 Cromartie was fantastic for us last year.
I do not in any way trust Cro with big money long term. Would take Clements in a second over him. This offseason is a major bust no matter how you slice it. Aso played us and in the process, we soured our relationship with key free agents. If we lose Braylon, then yes, this offseason is a bust and we did not improve in any area. Special teams got weaker. The defense will be the same, or likely weaker without Pool and Cromartie not in a contract year plus rookie Dlineman who we do not know will make an immediate impact. The offense loses Braylon who worked great with Sanchez and we will look for a cheap option that won't pan out. I am livid about how these last few days were handled.
Cro and a good WR would be a start I cant see us doing anything close to last season - there just isnt the time this year and what time was available got wasted with Aso Almost certainly our team this year will be at leasy a bit weaker (at least on paper) than last year's so we all just need to pray that Sanchez continues his forward development and takes it to the next level
