It has nothing to do with loyalty and everything to do with them prioritizing Cro over Braylon. They can't realistically pay both. I happen to disagree with this decision (I would pay Braylon instead of Cro), but this is a Rex thing. He has a hard on for Cornerbacks because he needs them to play excellent B&R coverage to play defense the way he wants to play it.
We will lose Cro just like we did the Aso sweepstakes. Same agent. Same tactics. Tanny got shined. Doesn't happen very often, but he got shined.
If the agent pulls the same stunt twice watch tanny really ass rape the guy when he has a chance. As for aso picking the eagles good for him but I would not give a 30 yr old player a 12 million a yr 5 yr deal. Aso better play 2 positions because that is the salary he is eating up. As for pHilly be better hardly. Vick is good but injury prone poor running game questionable front 7. The Jets have some of the same questions but if you get cro and a safety (huff for instance) there is the two positions that Aso would have eating up. Plus we are younger. With a better offensive line/defensive line. Where we are hurting is at olb. So this eagles winning the super is hardly news worthy because aso picked them. They had good defensive backs last year adding DRC and Aso means Asante is on the outs. If you save money this year you get hoim next yr cheap if you want both him and Aso will be 31/32.
Didn't McCoy rush for 1000 yards last year with a great yards/carry? What is all this "no running game" stuff?
While it's both disappointing and surprising I think it could just be posturing. Braylon was a great Jet during his year and half with one off the field mistake. He made amends for it and didn't make excuses. If there was one guy I wanted back it was Braylon. Hopefully the two sides can come to an agreement and we'll see #17 back with the Jets. There are a lot of places he could go and I don't think Cro is more important then Edwards. Cro while a very good CB is expendable because I have faith that Rex knws what he is doing with Wilson and that Wilson worked very hard this offseason to improve. He spent it on Revis Island.
Wasn't Vick the 1st QB to go to Lambeu and win a playoff game? I'd say that was pretty big. Considering he never had any WR's in Atlanta to take them as far as he did was pretty solid. They got beat by the SB Champs, no shame in that. We may not want to admit it but the Eagles were just as close as the Jets were to winning the SB. The guy went to a place he will be the man on D. Nothing wrong with that.
I cant blame him... he busted his hump for us, made huge plays for us, wanted to be here, wanted to come back, would have likely taken a discount, and we gave him the big middle finger. i dont know where he goes, and i never root against the jets, but next time he plays us i hope he breaks every single game nfl receiving record
he didnt win it, so much as favre lost it. i believe his only other playoff win was against an 8-8 seahawks team
Perhaps but we won't know that until we know how much SF/Oakland/whoever else is willing to offer Cro. I could easily see us giving him the best offer. We'll see.
Did we? By locking up Holmes and then pursuing Aso, who would have drained up most of the rest of the cap space, they pursued a particular path. But that doesn't mean they don't like Braylon, and didn't want him back. Players act like it's a business, almost always pursuing the biggest dollar while taking the emotion out of the negotiations. Why shouldn't the teams be given the same courtesy? It seems duplicitous that players be allowed to follow the dollar, but when a team looks in another direction before returning to a particular path, it's an insult.
TheJetsStream Manish Mehta #Jets are "expected to make big pitch" for Plaxico Burress, according to @EdBouchette. #nyj
Honestly, I wouldn't mind having Plax, as much as other people hate him I think he'd still be a good wideout.
