One thing to remember the Front office could be looking towards next year as well. Cro is more important to this team the BE. I like BE he does so many things right but can't stay out of trouble. I would much rather sign a safety and Cro then BR and CRO depending on who the safety is.
i love how people are content on fielding a shittier offense than our 29th ranked pass attack yet have no problem overpaying cro when its rex's job to field a good defense no matter what
Stop reminding us that Schotty is still the Jets offensive coordinator. I guess there's a couple ways to look at it, one is that even with all the talent the Jets had last year offensively they still couldn't throw the ball consistently, so there's no point in investing even more heavily in it.
I don't think that's a smart way to look at it. Yea, we weren't efficient through the air. But how many times late in the game did putting the ball in the air save our asses? Holmes may have made the big catches, but Braylon made the big catches leading to the big catches. We absolutely need to go into the season with a tall deep threat, for nothing more than a bailout for Sanchez.
i'm fine with not bringing edwards back as long as we can replace him with a good receiver and also address some other areas such as the DL and CB. and BTW we all know that we drafted some good looking young DL guys - but that doesn't mean we shouldn't pick up a DL FA if there is somebody available that Rex wants.
Its about the offense not waking up after halftime. If they can be what they are in the 4th quarter all game, then they'll put up 22-25 ppg.
Yup, couldn't agree more. Holmes always got the credit for his late game heroics, but Braylon deserved just as much credit in his own right. How about the catch vs the Texans preceding Holmes, or the HUGE catch vs Indy to set up a chipshot FG for Folk, or when he dragged two NE defenders with him into the endzone.
As disappointed as I am, I trust Tanny. He hasn't steered me wrong in any of his previous years. Nnamdi wasn't his fault, while waiting that long possibly, but you have to take that chance.
I don't think so either. We know the defense is going to be good but it's not going to be win a Super Bowl by itself good unless they get some kind of pass rush going. I don't think "ground and pound" cuts it in the playoffs either. Even if the Jets aren't going to throw it 40 times a game they need to start letting and/or Sanchez needs to start making big plays when they do throw like Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh.
this is a fucking retarded way of thinking theres no fucking way sanchez gets better by subtraction. unless he suddenly turns into brees or rivers which i dont see happening. the jets really dropped the fucking ball in pursuing the biggest possible luxury which we NEVER needed. if they were hell bent at upgrading CB they shouldve just signed Joseph and called it a fucking day. pass offense gets worse no matter who else they bring in at this point. i could be wrong but all this is contingent upon Sanchez making HUGE strides. i also love how they say it would be too much money to tie up at WR when they had no problem doing it at CB. people would argue the flexibility options on defense open up much more with two lockdown CB i say they can each only cover 1 guy and free up a blitzer. thats an impact of 4 players holmes and edwards potentially can demand double teams. at this stage teams simply have to double team holmes and have faith their number 2 can cover a 30 yr old removed from back surgery cotchery (I love him but theres little telling how that body holds up for another Sep-Jan
Fuck you Jets.... if you dont want edwards, fine. but dont chase nnamdi for 3 days, restructuring a million contracts, telling us your 10-12 million under the cap, then come back and tell us you dont have the money. we can sign nnamdi but not brodney pool? wake me when pool signs for 5 years 70 million /rant
I disagree that Cro is more important. I think Rex will have a good D no matter who we have in place there. It's more important that we keep the offense intact (or improved) for Sanchez. Since I don't think we can get a better WR than Braylon, I'd rather keep the offense intact.
it was on NFLN just now. The JETS are not going after Edwards. They dont want him. I swear, if we replace him with Moss, im going to be pissed because 1. Moss has a nasty attitude you dont want next to Sanchez and 2. Hes lazy compared to Edwards (weak blocking, lack of effort, bitches when not getting the ball).
