This...I figured some team would blow him out of the water after all the talk about how he wanted to be on the Jets but it didn't turn out to be the case. Especially to get the rug pulled out from under us at the last minute after a three-day drama by a team who was already strong at corner themselves and now are probably the NFC Super Bowl favorite to meet the Patriots in February. Fatcesa's probably chuckling about how Rex's skill as a recruiter is overrated now since he wasn't even the guy who got him to take less.

The only good news is the fact Aso took less money perhaps lessens the dollar figure for Cromartie a tad.

Our priority now should be getting Edwards, and if not him then Moss. Our D was ranked #2 last year, our offense was 20-something. We need to give Sanchez weapons to improve that ranking, even if our D drops slightly I think its worth it. Trust #1 the draft pick of last year.

Thats been my assumption all along. Which is why I am a huge fan of getting Chris Carr into the fold.

I wont be happy with Chris Carr.. he is a #3 CB at best.. The only reason he got playing time last year is because of injuries... He will get burned...

He played well in Baltimore, which is a similar scheme.

He can play outside and inside, and can get his hands on a WR at the line.

Every CB gets burned. There is one Revis.

Jets need to go out and get Assante Samuel.. He would be a SOLID #2, I think hes better than Cromartie. Hes definitely up there in the top 10 CBs..

We get Cro and BE back we are fine. Add in a healthy Jim Leonard, some big body draft picks and we are good to go.

No thanks. Samuel is great at making the big play, but for the Jets to consistently send blitzers they need cornerbacks who can play physical man coverage, especially the bump and run at the line. Samuel's no good at that.

In order of preference, I want Cromartie, Marshall, or Carr.

    Moving on...

you would think after we get david harris locked up long term and his franchise tag off our payroll we would/should have enough to get back Cro, Braylon, and Ellis. I think Bray will give al little discount to jets. but also, we need to get a solid pass rusher somehow.

I'd be interested in Carlos Rodgers. He did a lot of man coverage in Washington. The only downfall to him is he drops interceptions.

Absolutely. Carr is about to break out in this league. I don't want to get ahead of myself... But I could see him being next years Brent Grimes...

 You don't want a cb who will get burned... but are perfectly happy with Asante? That guy is probably the biggest gambling CB in the NFL. for every great int he comes up with, he gives up at least 5 big plays. He doesnt want to play in a man scheme because then he can't sit in a zone and gamble on the big int, which he usually fails to come up with. If you think Carr is a bad idea... go watch a couple games asante played in.
