That's right our offense is scary.Scary BAD  I know we had many holes to address in the draft but where are the playmakers? Coles average at best. McCarriens? Not in this league. Our RB situation unless Wahington is something special won't be keeping up opposing D/C's up late at night. Our TE's are just as bad.You could have Joe Montanna as your QB but unless you have playmakers your're not winning in this league. Comments anyone?

I agree we are hurting for playmakers, but I think we got two sparkplugs in this draft in Washington and Brad Smith. I don't think they are going to contribute too much as rookies and I think they are destined to being a 3rd down back and slot receiver (respectively) but good enough to come in a couple times a game and get a big play to help (and hopefully) bust the game wide open.

I agree, the offense is horrible, but at least it should be an improvement over last year. I buy into the philosophy that games are won in the trenches, so drafting a franchise LT and a capable C is a big step, IMO. There aren't any big time playmakers, but Brad Smith and Leon Washington could develop into those kind of players.

I like Baker as TE, but he really hasn't cashed in on the opportunities given to him. I still feel like he can be a capable starter, but his number of chances are decreasing rapidly.

The QB situation might be unstable now, but it should be all worked out soon enough. This is really Chad's last shot at a comeback and possibly Ramsey's last shot to show he can be a starter. I think that motivation and competition should leave us with at least one capable QB to handle the load until Clemens is ready.

with the inproved o-line and a possible breakout season for chris baker and some guy named CUTRIS MARTIN. the Offence depends on the QB play.

If the OL can protect your QB's, and you can have an average running game, it may not be all bad. I agree there's nothing really there in terms of playmakers, but it all starts up front, and the OL usually dictates the overall offensive output. That being said, the majoity of the Jets starting OL this year looks young and inexperienced. That spells growing pains in my opinion...

It's also not encouraging news about Ramsey, and how he has been struggling to absorb the offense. I thought he would be starting over Pennington this year, but obviously he's not turning any heads in NY these days....

I think the Jets should just bite the bullet this year, and start their most promising off-season addition{QB K. Clemens}. What could it hurt at this early rebuilding stage?? It's not like Pennington is blowing anyone's doors off with his attempt of a comeback, and since you passed on Leinart during the draft{thank you}, it's time Mangini found a solid starting QB to begin his HCing career. He's got no pressure to win right away, and if Clemens became a legit starter during the 2006 season, you'd be in much better shape on offense heading into 2007....

    Just my opinion....

    The offense will be okay.

    Not horrible, not great.

Actually the entire team will be that way. :)

    This is what is scary:

    The QB situation

    The #2 receiver position

    The Tight End's blocking ability

The health of our RBs and ability for them to gain yards effectively.

Coles is not average, he is good. He's not Randy Moss or Chad Johnson, but he belongs up there with the good #1 WRs in the league. By the way, nobody expects our offense to be dominant, that's what rebuilding means. People will be looking for steady improvements and certain players to come to the forefront.

P.S. - One would think that considering his prominence in the NFL, you'd know how to spell Montana.

I hope your not basing anything at all on last years offensive stats. When was the last time Coles had a decent Oline, and a decent QB? That is the year you should be basing your judgments on. I seem to remember a Coles with a chip on his shoulder that Chad was throwing to with a steller Oline that did pretty well. For that matter, I remember a Curtis Martin who also did pretty well the last time he had a good offensive line backing him up.

All I am saying is I wont be passing any judgments on this team until I see them play a few times.

There isn't any thing that is scary, unless you are delusional and think this team is a playoff contender this year or next. This team is young, from the players to the CS and the FO. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Right now, this team is ugly, even to a blind man. Total rebuilds are always ugly. What Jet fans need to hope for is that this is the ugly duckling.... the one that turns into a swan in two years.

One thing I can garantee..... Jets message boards will get ugly, full of impatient fans that think it's easy to rebuild in today's NFL within a year. It isn't. New shemes, new coaches, young players..... the Jets did not have the nucleus to do a one year turn around. But, i like the things the franchise has done, and at least, for myself, I won't be doing any whining this year, but I'm sure that plenty of "Jets fans" will.

i think u exaggerated on the tes part i aso think that cotchery is really gonna step up this year. and i dont see how u can get on mccareins back when u take a look at who was throwing to him,

  14. I don't understand what there is to be upset about. We are a rebuilding team. Even if we HAD playmakers; our front office, coaching, scheme, etc...are all brand new...and the performance on the field will/would suffer as such.

Everything is brand new, and everything is an adjustment. We're building a foundation w/ a young OL..and a possible franchise QB. That isn't a bad way to start off. We will be adding more play makers at the skill positions in the coming years..but it's gonna take time. And the sooner we all realize this..the sooner we can be patient w/ the process. And patience is realistically what we need.

Lets let them play a down or 2 before going that far. We have no idea how our QB situation will pan out,it could end up being much better than we expected.
