Did Jason ever say it was close?

From what ive heard he is pretty much the man to "read" news about Aso going somewhere.

Yeah, La Confora essentially said it's going to depend on how much of a discount Aso wants to give the Jets. Although, he did say that Aso hasn't played in many meaningful games in his career, so if that matters to him, then the Jets would clearly be the best place for him to go.

Sounds like Mr La Confora is hoping the Jets don't sign Aso because his job would be pretty boring if they did.

Yup, pretty much. The only difference I interpreted is that earlier he sounded like the Jets were major players for Aso, and now he seems very doubtful that it's going to happen.

Brett Favre = unlikely and difficult
Mark Sanchez = unlikely and difficult
Darrelle Revis extension = unlikely and difficult

La Canfora is a Jets hater. Him and Lombardi are notorious for killing the Jets. I take his words with a grain of salt.

I'd like some closure with Nnamdi (one way or the other). I don't want to let Braylon and Cromartie get away...

Here's the catch though, Aso has already made a lot of money. More in the last 3 years then most players make in their careers and he hasn't even sniffed the playoffs.

I didn't mean to imply that the SF guy was RIGHT, I was just saying it his points weren't all as unreasonable as others were saying. I love Mark Sanchez, but he's still inconsistent. And if we went into the season with just Holmes, Cotch, Kerley, and McKnight at WR, which obviously wouldn't happen, nobody here would be happy. And we haven't added a pure pass rusher, though that doesn't worry me the slightest bit. And totally agree the running game will be great but Shonn did lose his job last year and not really live up to our super-high expectations. Those are all facts, trust me I'm the farthest thing from a SOJF. Was just pointing that out, he was looking at the Jets like we look at other teams rosters.

  19. Could the Frank Gore holdout threat hamstring the 49ers a little bit? They may have to keep some resources available for that.
