Cassel(who was a pro bowler in KC and led them to a div title by the way so he could play) took a team that was undefeated and averaged nearly 40 pts a game to 10-5 as a starter averaging over 11 PPG LESS the nest season against a MUCH weaker schedule. Check BB's record w/ and w/o Brady, Brady is the Pats offense.
Are you having reading comprehension problem, junc? I was telling you [if Matt Cassel was having time pressure while playing for Patriots,] as you claimed that it was Brady and Manning making the whole thing happen like they do. Who gives a flying fuck about how that bum did in KC? I don't? If the point is not clear: whoever plays the QB for the Patriots, (it pains me to admit this fact but) he will not have as much of a time problem like Mark Sanchez has to. Simply because his OC will give the plays much faster - which Schottenheimer rarely does. You see, the point here wasn't to compare the QBs, but to point out the ineptitude of Brian Schottenheimer, which you just refuse to acknowledge, even against the mountains of evidences against you.
LOL @ using the Pro Bowl as a measuring stick for the talent of NFL players. Matt Cassel took care of the football in 2010, but that's about all I'll give him credit for. This guy rarely threw the ball downfield and struggled horribly when the Chiefs were down late in games and had to throw the football. The Chiefs, who represented the worst AFC division in the 2010 playoffs, played an incredibly weak schedule. They didn't beat anyone worth a crap. Dwayne Bowe and Jamaal Charles are YAC machines. They deserve way more credit than Cassel. The Raiders were the best team in the AFC West. The Chiefs lucked out at the end.
I don't use PBs to evaluate players, the point of it was that he can play in this league. People act like he took some bum who couldn't play and won a SB, he did a great job w/ Cassel but he was on that team for years learning under Brayd, he took over a team that was undefeated the year before and smashed offensive records and they got significantly worse.
There's no way anyone can say Tom Brady is only successful because of Bill Belichick. I definitely agree with you that Tom Brady makes that offense run the way it's supposed to. However, I disagree that Matt Cassel is a quality starter in this league. I have a feeling the Chiefs will be looking for a new quarterback sooner than later. It was obvious that Matt Cassel has physical talent - he earned a scholarship to a program that, at the time, was the best in the country. He just never got to play behind better, more capable quarterbacks.
I am not a big Cassel fan, I think much like sanchez is better than his #s that Cassel is much worse than his #s but he can still play in this league. You aren't winning a championship or getting close but you can win games w/ him. I'm thankful we have a young QB I think we can win a championship with.
Look, I get he retired. I do. But, guys who are as good at what they do as Moore always have the itch. If he still wants to be involved in football in some capacity, it never hurts to ask him to be an OC for another year or 2. Heck, Dick LeBeau is just as old, and still is one of the best DC's in the NFL. I am not saying he would agree. I am just saying that they could have asked.
How do you know they didn't ask him? How do you know he didn't say from the start that he had no interest in being an OC again and just wanted to do for the Jets what he did last year for the Colts? Is it because you thought you had a great idea after the fact and now want everyone to agree with you over a moot point?
