http://www.metsblog.com/2011/07/03/jose-reyes-has-a-grade-one-hamstring/ This is pretty good news regarding Reyes. I think we should play it as cautiously as we possible can and let him sit a few out, maybe even through the AS break.
Mets put up 3 runs to go up 3-2 after coming out very flat for 5 innings. Their infield is made up of mostly Bisons with IKe, Wright and Reyes out. Tejada continues to play well and Murphy had a clutch 2B. Parnell on to pitch...
K-Rod looked good despite a leadoff double. Cappy gets the win and looked pretty solid as well. So many times in the past few years, the Mets would have lost this game after such an emotional win the day before. It makes me think that Collins has this team competing at a different level regardless of the talent on the field.
Obviously .500 isn't going to ultimately get the team anywhere, but it's hard to be too disappointed when they're playing this way, considering the players they've been forced to put on the field.
Said it numerous times but Collins has been outstanding this year , his demeanour and passion are infectious. Capothingybob has been a great surprise and both him and Gee put Pelfrey to shame. Anyway who would have thought that in July we would actually enjoy wtaching the Mets!!
capuano started out 1-6 and is now 8-7. reyes needs to sit till after the all star break. bay needs to continue his good play so hopefully someone takes him off our hands. bay and krod need to go.
Bay hits his second shot of the nite to put the Mets up 6-0. Pelfrey pitched himself in and out of trouble but kept runs off the board.
Byrdak and Izzy being shopped as well as Krod and Beltran Interesting to see what the hell we get for the first two
Mets once again at 2 games over .500, their best for the season. Can they get to 3 over with the sweep?
That would be awesome but it is a 4 game series and Kershaw pitches tomorrow nite. LA seems to be in a tailspin and the Mets are playing better away from NY and the media.
