If the flea commercial was still shown, I'd watch more Mets games.

I watched for 10 minutes. I saw the great catch by Bourjos and more shitty pitching by Parnell. He's the new Heath Bell but less of a whiner.

Pelfrey pitching good so far and Pagan has a hit, steal, and run. That is all good for my fantasy team.

The other day I was looking for that Angels at Mets series featuring that great Saturday game with the Marlon Anderson inside-the-park home run. Then I realized it was from 2005 and went bye bye due to the February 2006 board crash.

oh, actually slightly different. That one started on my birthday, and this one started a day later. Close enough. I guess interleague is scheduled around similar times each season anyway.

Yeah, we lost tons of good material. Oh well.

In winter 2005 I was deciding which Mets game to attend that year. The two finalists were the Saturday Angels game and whichever shitfest I ended up going to. I remember lamenting about my unlucky choice in the game thread that night.

Then there was the time in June 2000 when I was supposed to go to a Pirates-Mets game with a good friend, but then some geek joined the party at the last minute and I had to settle for going to the Comedy Cellar instead. The geek (a non-sports fan) was a friend of my friend's and I had to tolerate his presence on occasion. Well on that night in June the Mets played a wild game against the Pirates and the final score may have been 9-8 just like the Pirates-Mets game from earlier this month.

That's funny 3 years ago I was at the last Willie Randolph game and then the 1st Jerry Manual game. It was the Monday after Father's Day. I met Ryan Church's family at the game. We won Willie's last game and then Santana got shelled the next night.

I've always had luck seeing them in Phoenix in fact we've never lost a game against the DBacks I've been to (4 games) but I've only seen the Mets win 2 games in the state of California, Randolph's last game and an extra inning game against the Giants in a day game that Bonds hit a pinch hit 2 run homer in the bottom of the 9th to send it into extra innings. Wright had a throwing error that allowed the tying run to come to the plate. The wild thing about that game is that Brian Bannister had a 2 run double but got injured. Not only did Darren Oliver get the W but he also had an at bat in extras.

I've seen us lose 5 times to the Padres including F Rod give up a walk off grand slam to Erveth Cabrera after watching Livan Hernandez give up 7 earned runs the night before. I even saw lose a day game to them at the old Murph.

I've also seen us lose to the Dodgers twice. I've never seen the Mets play in Oakland although I won the lottery and had tickets to a game one of the WS that never happened between the Mets and A's in 2006 with both teams losing the LCS.

Impressive performance by Pelfrey tonight - first 9-inning complete game for a Met pitcher this year.

Two times I have seen the Mets lose 2-1 to the Padres in 14 innings and I've only attended 35 Mets games. What are the odds that two of them would be 2-1 losses to the Padres in 14 innings? One game was in NY and one was in SD. Bret Saberhagen pitched 10 scoreless innings in the NY game.

I looked up which 2005 Shea Stadium game I attended. I went to the 4/22 game vs Washington. The Mets won 3-1 so it was not a shitfest. Still, it wasn't memorable like that Saturday game vs the Angels. (The 4/22 game was the infamous game where my cousin jerked off in the outfield bleachers and wiped his hand on a guy's jacket.)

In 2005 I also attended a Tigers-Orioles game and the Mets at Washington game on Independence Day.

I knew he would be good this week. My other fantasy pitcher today was Tim Stauffer. His team lost 1-0.

that was such a great game, will always remember how marlon nearly blew the inside-the-parker as he'd decided to blow a huge bubble mid-stride, i want to say it was between 2nd and 3rd. anyhow it did seem to hinder him just a bit but he still made it all the way around.

    i miss shea.

I delivered food to Bret Saberhagen's house back in either '96 or '97.
