Joe Gibbs WAS a great head coach a long time ago and what he did during the lockout was a long time ago. Give it up Rex, if we don't sign Holmes, Cro, Braylon and Wilson and Ducasse are not working hard, none of this crap means squat. There's probably gonna be a 10 game season and the product is gonna suck but the cost will be the same to us. Sorry, I am down on everything NFL until futher notice
What is wrong w/ picking the brains of some of the all time greats? Yeah it was a long time ago but he won SBs in each of the last 2 NFL work stoppage seasons. Maybe he has some tidbits that Rex could use?

Rex is obviously doing the right thing - but why does it have to be in the news that he's meeting with Gibbs and Moore? Now half the other coaches are going to do the same thing. Rex is a good coach with good ideas but too much of it is out in the open thus giving the opposition time to counter. Keep a bit more quiet Rex and then your coaching might be more effective.
It was never interesting or even worth reading, now it's just painfully annoying and borderline trolling.
Sounded to me like Rex's comments were part of a sales pitch, he had to offer the idea of a return of investment. I can only imagine how frustrating the lockout makes this: Who wants to buy into an unknown product? Anyways, I don't feel like the notice of open discussions with Gibbs and Moore provides any divine revelation for other coaches to worship. Coaches are always seeking out advise and I'm sure they are not lacking in material to learn/review. My take is that the copy cat mentality that plagues the league applies more to successful game planning innovation, not theory. It requires less work that way. In this case, the coaches referenced were targeted because of historical success. Good news, I think it is great stuff for the Jets coaching staff to learn from. I can understand where your comming from, Rex puts a lot out there: The attention Jet's West Camp recieved "may" have inspired other player run camps. Talking up players during news conferences, that your currently negotiating contracts with "may" sound like a bad idea. etc. Let's face it Rex is not a poker player, he won't give you the combination #'s to crack the game plan, but is far removed from being a surprise artist, and that's what I enjoy. It's like calling the running play when the defense is set up for it, and everyone in the place knows your going to run it. As a fan I can appreciate this mentality, when it works it's such a nice little fuck you to hand your opponent. Great approach to the game, because it can be such a confidence booster. If your not stopped when your opponent has the correct play in place, what good is their game plan? And if your attempt fails, you can always use the fact the opponent's were set up for it as a scape goat. So I don't mind Rex putting some of his thoughts and ideas out there. You don't beat a horse to death, but you should feed it.
