Nice article by Cannizarro, who I rarely pay any attention to. Funny thing about Cimini is that I thought he was beginning to lighten up and he appeared to be having fun with his draft tweets until the Ellis pick. His uninformed tweets were wrong, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Cimini is such scum. Not only did he slam the kid right away but he also made stupid comments Thursday night as well. When they picked Mo he tweeted something along the lines of oh another NJ guy better hope he turns out better than last year (Wilson). How does someone who does this for a living make such a stupid comment after 1 season? Hes a fool.
Well he's got a point about Wilson, regardless of his future potential he wasn't very good last year. If Wilkerson struggles to start the year that won't be good, especially if Ellis signs elsewhere.
If you search on Cimini on Twitter there seems to be a groundswell of opinion that Cimini's "druggie" comment overstepped the mark, including from some interesting names. Worth watching what happens, I would imagine that if the Jets camp want to take offence to it which they well might (and probably should) then Cimini could have little choice but to apologise publicly, as it will put ESPN in an awkward position with the Jets otherwise.
Great Read. Cannizaro actually doing a good job unlike some little faggot troll who writes for the jets. COUGH CIMINI COUGH.
As everyone has stated, Dick was completely unprofessional. I hope Dick will be kicked in the nuts by Ellis.
This on twitter a few minutes ago... TheJetsStream Manish Mehta RT @ProFootballMgmt #Jets Nation-- We will be taking Kenrick Ellis' Twitter public 2night! Follow your 3rd Rd pick at @Mr_ellis97. #nyj
Good to see a true journalistic piece by a writer who covers this team. Love the pop shot he takes at Cimini. What he did crossed the line. The kid failed one drug test and that makes him a "druggie" ? From what I understand the Patriots were the ones who drafted a kid with drug problems , not a failed test by an 18 year old kid from 3 years ago. I don't see the Pats beat writer referring to Mallett as a "druggie" or having a piss poor attitude.
Francesa must of hi-jacked Camini's twitter account, he would never rush to judgement on a Jets player. hmy: Can someone with an ESPN account post this article as a response on Camini's tweet?
I wish a major outlet would catch wind of this Cimini nonsense. I've defended this guy alot over the years but his negative attitude toward the franchise has become over the top. I think it'd be great for everyone including Rich for him to find a new team to cover.
It should be telling him that. And ESPN's silence on this matter shows that the network condones his actions.
What I want to know is when ESPN will be responding to this unprofessionalism. My sense is they won't, but that speaks volumes about "the worldwide leader in sports."
Big Kens twitter account is gonna be "@Mr_ellis97" eh .... wonder what number he will rock for the Jets
He broke the dudes jaw and nose, it's a much more serious offense when you break someones bones, especially in the face. He should be fine though, my friend grabbed a bat after this older guy beat him up at a party when he was 18 and the guy pulled a shot gun on him and swung it around and hit him with the butt of the gun in the back when my friend tried to run away, completely crushed his kidney and some spinal damage. It went to court and everything, but the dude got no jail time.
