This pick is a direct result of our front 3 getting pushed around like a bunch of lightweights in the first half of the Pitt game. Had to do it.
Hard to dislike the pick, he fits a need and adds some much needed youth into our front line. I was kinda hoping we'd go for the 'flashier' pick with Ayers or Bowers (I know he would never fit in Rex's versatile scheme and he's gonna retire like next week) but this was def. a solid pick.

I'm not sure...I'd say it's more likely he believes he can get more of a pass rush by solidifying the line, having big guys who create blitzing lanes, than getting a pure edge rusher. To a large extent, it makes sense. It's not as direct or overt a way of creating a pass rush, but it's still an effective philosophy.
