So what happens to the second movie if the tv show tanks? This could either be the biggest thing to hit in years, or the biggest bust for NBC since the XFL.

Does anyone know if they are still making the HBO series Under the Dome? I thought Spielberg was going to make it.

Also, they are remaking IT into a 2 hour movie. No way in hell can you do IT justice in just 2 hours. IT needs to be a 12 episode miniseries for it to be done well

Finally finished "Wolves of the Calla" tonight. I thought is was a great entry into the series. I liked the "Seven Samurais" theme and it had one of the best conclusions. I'm tempted to jump into "Song of Susannah" immediately, but I'll probably take another DT break and read something else.

I just finished Under the Dome....great read. Kinda had a small town "The Stand" feel to it.

Don't like it. He needs to lose a lot of weight and the accent. I was thinking more like Viggo Mortenson.

both are too young really. Although they could "age" viggo pretty easily to make it work

Viggo is in his 50s. I don't think Roland's age was ever actually stated in the books but late 30s-early 40s when he wakes up on the beach seems about right to me.

that'll learn me to check IMDB before posting.

I forget where I saw it, but I'm pretty sure that Roland's age after the 1st book is supposed to be somewhere between mid-50s and early 60s. That would make Viggo the better choice.

I think Roland was always referred to as long, tall, and ugly. None of those things jump to my mind when i think of javier. Viggo maybe. Even at 125 years old Clint Eastwood is still a better fit.

I really want Edward Norton for Eddie.

I was also pleasantly surprised with this book. I love the long King books with the great characters. I was a big fan of Jim Rennie(?), his son, and the main character. Sorry it's been awhile since I've read it. I was not a fan of the ending, however, but not surprised considering King wrote it.

I just finished Song of Susannah. I'm not sure why people didn't like this volume of the DT. While it was not the very best of the series, it was very good and definitely works well with the rest of the series. I particularly enjoyed Roland and Eddie meeting a particular writer. I think the delay between books builds anticipation and fans start to build in their minds what the next chapter of the story should be....and when it isn't, they are disappointed.

I think it is the same problem some fans had with the ending of LOST. I thought it was brilliant, but since it wasn't what some people expected, they were pissed.

There were large delays between the first 4 books, all 5+ years I believe, and those are the books everyone likes. The last 3 came out over a 10 month span or something ridiculous and did a total 180 on the story.

Also I don't think too many people had a huge problem with the actual ending of this series(which was probably the only part he had clear in his mind from when he started the series) as they did with the self insertion, attempting to tie it into everything he's ever written, meta nonsense.
