    ^

Sounds like the scouts are talking about Gholston...."not instinctive, doesn't want to be here"......

So his red flags came true. Sad. He lost a lot of money.

same here, I can't see Kerrigan falling to 30...if he did though it would be an interesting choice between himself and Reed

id be happy with either one. if i had to pick though id prolly take Reed for having a higher ceiling IMO.

you HAVE to love Kerrigan's motor and work ethic though.

I saw this the other day, this should tell you something on what type of defense he wants to play in in the NFL-

    yep just answered that.

i think hes realized the depth of tweeners this year. as far as a pure 4-3 DE Kerrigan is money.

He lost that weight coming into the Senior Bowl to give both types of defenses a look at him.

I guess he's been told which one he's going to fit into and will give him a better chance at being drafted high.

People said the same with Justin Houston beefing up, but I take it with a grain of salt. Pace plays at 265 and Tamba Hali plays at 275 while Suggs and Ware are around 260.

I'm telling ya bro. To me, if there is anyone in this draft that reminds me of Gholston, it would have to be, Wilson. I'm not saying they are clones, but there is a lot I can compare between the two players.

People are getting hyped up on his athletic ability and measurables. That doesn't automatically make for a good football player, as we all know.

Wilson should be avoided, but we'll see what happens.

    1) They play D
    2) They are AA
    3) They played in the Big 10
    4) They are physically gifted for their size
    5) They both display stiffness
    6) They both played out of position, abet different levels

I see only 1 negative on that list(2 if you are from Mississippi) and that's still not enough to drive me off the bandwagon, which I was on before the Combine. Forgive me if a Bengals LB Coach and a Blogger who called Jake Locker the best QB in the draft this past January isn't enough to scare me away.

His lack of ball skills is very minor, you don't draft a LB solely to pick off passes. And I don't buy the "he didn't want to be there" by looking at his facial expressions. If I hold a neutral expression all day, does that mean I'm not a content person?

There is always risk, if you going around being safe in the draft, you will constantly miss the best talent. There are big risks with prospects like Reed and Sheard too, there is the same possibility that they won't cut it in the NFL.

If I'm going down, I'm going down with the ship...

That is fine. You like who you like, but how did you feel about Gholston when we drafted him? Just curious.

That one negative isn't my only concern from watching film on him. He has always had trouble maintaining his role in that defense from what I've seen, especially before his injury. He has poor instincts, awareness, and stiffness, etc... These are really big red flags for a linebacker.

When I watch him, I don't get excited, I actually just can't get away from all the question marks I see out of him while he is playing.

You like who you like though, I haven't been on this bandwagon, and I will never be on it. This is one of those players for me, that I am very confident that they will only be average at best in the NFL.

We'll see though, I've been wrong before.

I wasn't on this site then, so I don't have definitive proof for you, but I was on the McFadden bandwagon, I had to watch multiple hype videos about Gholston to get the least bit excited for the pick.

I didn't like that his biggest claim to fame was beating Jake Long. Even in the BCS game, you could see he had a great bull rush, but that was it.

Which is why I don't think he should play MLB in the NFL, he's playing the position off of pure athleticism, Ron Zook even acknowledged he shouldn't be there. A full time rushing role is where he should be at, whether it be OLB or DE. A defined role under a defensive coach like Rex would do him good, because short being a good talent evaluator, Ron Zook couldn't offer him much more.

I can probably name on one hand MLBs that impress me, it's not a very "wow" position. You have to be the elite of the elite to truly show out on tape.

    We will

Is anyone worried about how reed has flown up the draft board. Less than 2 months ago we saw this kid as a 3rd round possibilty. I am fine with his boosted grade due to his performance i the senior bowl. But i feel like the combine elevatex him to a rediculous level. I understand at a "sexy" position like pass rusher sometimes u have to reach but i feel like the hype train is just crazy on this kid right now and this happens with onenplayer evrry year. Jarron gilbert anthony spencrr manny lawson

that may have happened around here with those three guys, but in NFL circles it wasnt too awful. Gilbert went in the 3rd, and Spencer and Lawson were first rounders before the combine.

shockingly you skipped the one guy you probably should have compared his meteoric rise too... Vernon.

Reed is nothing like vernon in any way, but his jump post combine is ridiculous, much like Gholstons.

People are about to argue, Gholston was projected to us pre-combine. yup, for one reason and one reason only, he was expected to blow up the combine, everybody knew he was a physical freak, they just didnt know exactly how much of one he was. The combine just confirmed he was the superior physical specimen. Although I still say if Vern had been drafted by St. Louis (and we got Long) both players would have been better off. They both would have been in the system they belonged in. Vern would never have been a stud, but at least as an end, he could have been serviceable. Long on the other hand is becoming an animal in St. Louis, and would have been a superstar here in NY with rex coaching him...
