Coaching may be too physically demanding for Penny. I've never heard of anyone snapping a hammy while coaching, but I'm sure he's up to the challenge.

I heard he plans on adding 10 pounds of muscle next offseason to he can have longer range on his jump shot.

You think we parted ways with Pennington at the right time now? I feel for the guy because he is a competitor but enough is enough Chad. Move on sir.

Man with all his joint problems I really wonder if Chad was juicing or something. It is pretty odd to tear up pretty much every major joint in your body like that.

He's also taking martial arts to help with his mechanics.

I'd love to see him on the sidelines working with the guys.. till someone gets tackled out of bounds and Chad ends up in traction. Maybe they could keep him in the booth.

It's sad the way fans trash him considering all he did for our team and the manner in which he conducted himself.

Uh, in retrospect, I wished we had kept him one more year over Favre. At the time I was for getting Favre, but Chad went on that next year to have one of his better years in, well... years. Of course we may not have gotten the setup to get Sanchez... everything happens for a reason, in its own season, I suppose. :breakdance:

It would have been much better for the 2008 season had we kept Chad but unintentionally the Favre trade was a great one for us longterm as it led to the firing of Mangini and the drafting of sanchez which should keep us a contender for many years to come.

Chad was an excellent QB for the Jets, but his luck is so bad its almost funny.

These posts sum it up well. Chad's last hurrah turned out to be getting revenge on us and Favre, who never wanted to be here. It's kind of like saying hiring Rich Kotite was a good move because it led us to Bill Parcells.

If we hadn't gotten Favre, and Chad had ended up having the year he had in 2008 for us instead of the Dolphins, then we might not have gone out and gotten Sanchez. In which case, we'd have an injured Pennington on our hands and we'd probably have Kellen Clemens under center. Our backup would be Erik Ainge and we'd be doing lines of coke in the locker room.

If Chad was only as durable as Sal Alosi he'd be on his way to the HOF:up:

A classy guy who deserves better than jets fans laughing at his misfortune. Remember 2002 and the hope he gave us , yes his shoulder almost fell of at times but he was and always will be class. Proud to own his jersey!

Chad has always had my respect. Hurt or not. As he is a classy kind of guy, both on and off the field.

Absolutely... one of those times when losing = winning. Wasn't easy to see back then, but it has led the team to a much better place in the long run.

Sucks about Pennington though. I would have loved to have him backing up Sanchez, or seen him go somewhere else and finish his career on a higher note. Guy is shattered glass and all heart. Ironically, the opposite of Favre.
