Little long in the tooth but either would provide needed depth http://www.denverbroncos.com/news-a...Released/3c62c199-7232-418e-9580-e243f2db9404
If Kris Jenkins re-signs, we won't need someone like Jamal Williams. Justin Bannan would be a solid signing though. He'd definitely be an upgrade over someone like Trevor Pryce. Rex coached Bannan in Baltimore too. ...so if he doesn't bring him in for a look, that tells us a lot.
Jamaal Williams started every game last year. We havent signed enough Beasts yet this offseason(due to obvious reasons) SO LET'S SIGN THIS BEAST.
they could be useful and allow us to draft other positions, but i wud still like to see some youth rather than a 34 year old...
Hopefully RoPo nails our #3 DE spot and would fill that void but Williams would be alright as DE depth. Come to think of it I'd prefer Bannan over Trevor Pryce if Rex is thinking of keeping him around.
Does getting younger mean we are getting better? I don't know, but in a league where every year any team can win it, you bring in the best players to improve your team. Both of these players would be upgrades over the production that they would be replacing (K. Jenkins & V. Gholston).
Couple that with his injury being an achilles, I think its doubtful we should count on Ropati giving us anything of value this year. Hopefully he recovers well and used his rehab time to get even stronger for this year and it improves his abilities, but I just don't know how realistic it is that he is even able to make the roster this year.
Sione Pouha > Jamal Williams Justin Bannan would be replacing Trevor Pryce, not Vernon Gholston. If you look at my earlier post in this thread, I mentioned Ryan coaching Bannan in Baltimore. It will say a lot if Bannan isn't brought in for a workout or an interview.
I agree that Pouha is better than Williams but Williams would provide some veteran depth. I knew of Ryan's history with Bannan. That would definitely be telling if they dont bring him in for a visit.
