    At some point, does it even matter? The effect is pretty much the same. When it comes a high first round quarterback blows, he takes a boat load of cash, and sets your franchise back about five years. It literally would have been better for the franchise if Oakland or San Diego had walked up to the podium and just said, "pass."

    There really should be some kind of mandated investment advice given to rookies.

    They get advice, but that's the problem, it's just advice. Nobody can make these kids (or anyone else for that matter) save money.

    Hell $5 million in the right stuff can pay you enough dividends to live off of the rest of your life. Try explaining that to a 21 year old who thinks he's immortal.
