Cincy's stance seems to be play hardball and fuck the guys that want out. They won't let them leave unless it was Cincy's idea first. which of course is not the case here, or in the case of Chad Johnson a few years back.
Cincy is a crap team. You cannot blame anybody for wanting out of there. If they were not one of the worst organizations in football they would trade him and get something in return. He seems like he would walk away from the game instead of returning to play for cincy. Plus he had to put up with that shit head 85 for most of his career. That in itself is a legit reason for wanting out.
They are the only northern team with no indoor practice facility. The scouting departing is 1 scout with 3 assistants Their owner has all the top business positions filled with family and in-laws And their owner is the GM. Plus under Mike Brown 2 winning seasons out of 21...
There are enough gay overtones in that advertisement for him to set up shop in Miami. He would be at home in that teal and orange.
What can they get for him now? They have no leverage thanks to these comments because not trading him isn't an option. Isn't their stadium relatively new?
Stadium opened 10 years ago, but the Bengals didn't pay for it, city funds did. And they could still get something, since if he dosen't get moved, he'll just retire.
they may as well start from scratch across the board starting with Palmer all the way to a new head coach, their system has not worked well, or honestly hasn't worked at all. can't put it all on palmer, or the coach, but at this point why not completely start over? they can get something in return for Palmer.
Third round pick maybe? It's not like he's this all pro QB that the Bengals need to keep, he's clearly not the player he was before the injury.
I'm just going to say that I do not think Palmer is as bad as a lot of you are saying. Prior to the injury he was doing better, but this team has sucked for quite a while now and while I don't follow Cincy all that closely, I have a hard time believing it is all because of the QB. I think a change of scenery could be very good for him. I think landing in Arizona would actually be a great place for this kid. With the Bungles though, I would completely expect them to force him to retire first.
Agreed on all counts. A change of scenery might do him well. And yes, the Bungles will force his hand and get nothing for him. I'm not a huge Palmer fan, but I'd love to see him flip Cincy the bird, then go enjoy the $80 million he's got banked.
