It makes sense to buy the tickets even if you don't want it. You can sell them on stubhub for a killing.
This announcement should surprise no one. I've been at the vanguard of predicting this for the past 30 months. We need clarification on this announcement, because it makes no sense. How can you have an "across-the-board" increase and ave no increase in the upper deck? This doesn't surprise me one iota, mind you, but the anouncement makes no sense. PSL guys need to relax and just learn to embrace your new-found price increases. Put on some silk panties, bend over and enjoy it. Woody increased Mezz STHers 10% per year for 8 years, literally doubling the ticket prices over that period of time. That is coming to a theater near you. And yes, of course they're leaving the upper deck prices alone. They have no leverage to raise those tickets, but more significantly, people will be deserting the uppers in droves and they know it. Everyone needs to relax, especially the PSL people. Pull down your pants and just learn to enjoy it. You knew this was coming or should have known. It's only been predicted on this board for almost 3 years now. No surprise.
i'm talking about for psl owners, if you don't buy season tickets as a psl owner you lose the psl no? also i see lower level tickets on stub hub for a ton of money (the premier games)...what's face value on those?
the only thing that surprises me is that they didnt raise them more. if i remember correctly they had no high amount that they could raise per year. they have the psl holders by the balls and they know there is nothing they can do. so they raise the prices. the uppers can and probably will tell them to go shit in their hat so those stay the same.
They never addressed questions concerning price increases. Sales "reps" were prohibited from talking about it. As far as the % of increase of these tickets in this announcement, the federal government is currently touting that there is no inflation and therefore no cost of living increases (COLA) are warranted. They've even taken to freezing SS payment increases for a period of at least 3 years, thereby shafting elderly folks who are actually facing signs of inflation the feds are denying exist. So for Woody to goose the prices in excess of 2% in a year such as this is a hefty amount by comparison. When inflation returns in spades (and it will), Woody can then launch into the "10% per year and double the prices in 7 years" campaign he so artfully executed in his first 7 years of ownership. It will be impossible to raise the uppe deck by that amount, however, so to execute the plan, he'll need to raise the PSL ticket prices by even more than his customary 10% per year and that will keep the program on track.
I got two seats. They went up a hundred dollars. Big deal. I'll glady pay it and the parking so I can actually see the game and not have walk for miles and miles before and after. You clowns always get so giddy when something bad happens to someone that bought some real seats. It's like an ugly chick laughing at a Supermodel because she got a pimple
Upper deck rocks.i love the walk, mocking visiting fans.hell now we will be paying $15 and getting a yellow parking spot bitches........what was that about walking bitches.....
The one game I went to I was in the upper deck. It was awesome. The atmosphere up there was great (rowdy Jet fans all around me) and my seats were awesome (I was in the second row of my section). I also had a yellow lot pass
Ive sat downstairs and upstairs in the new stadium. Upstairs is where its at. The stadium is blah as a whole. Im just higher up now.
omg I'm going to have to cut down from 7 days a week of the NY Times to only SIX days a week because of this HUGE less than 2 dollar a week increase in my Jet gameday ticket price for great seats in the great new stadium. HUGE GIGANTIC that damn woody!!!!!!
They are going to keep pricing the real fans out, it's sad but someday it will hurt the teams and the league.
according to all those "great defenders" of the real fan, all the "real fans" are in the upper deck and they didn't get any increases and got their parkking passes reduced. so I guess they are going to continue to give price breaks to all those "real fans"
You guys gotta look toward the future. I know you're all pampered going to games and actually experiencing them, but that's going to be for the bluebloods and the corporations only soon. Just think... in another 10 years or so, after they have perfected 3D technology to the point where it's a perfect holographic representation on the real thing, from any angle, you'll be able to spend a couple few hundred dollars to go to a 'Virtual Stadium'! An indoor mock stadium with an open space in the middle where there will be a perfect reproduction of what happens on the field, probably including the sidelines. And you won't have to pay for parking, or even wear a jacket! And you'll feel like it was a bargain, compared to the new $70,000 PSLs that the 7 time champion New York Jets will be charging for actual, real-life stadium seats. Get with it, Jets fans. The future is COMING!
the real fans don't want to sit a mile up in the sky watching ants play football so they already screwed the real fans and considering they didn't sell out all the PSLs and had to reduce pricing multiple times you would think they wouldn't try to raise prices especially w/ the labor mess coming up.
"... the payment schedule has been modified because of the NFL labor situation. Fifty percent payment is due April 1, with the rest when training camp dates are announced." "Modified" to April 1st instead of May 15th because of the labor situation? Hahahaha... absolutely hysterical! For the sake of your fans, you certainly would consider "modifying" the payment schedule if there might be no games, or if you think you might have to put an inferior product on the field, i.e. replacement players. With that looming, you might consider extending the due date, not shortening it! Come on! How stupid does Woody really think all STHers are? It's obvious they're shitting in their pants that they won't collect their money or that many upper deckers will bail at the last minute in early May, leaving them SOL. How do you prevent that? Make them pay sooner and eliminate the chance of more "one and dones." This wouldn't apply to PSL owners, however, who really have no choice but to pay out the ass regardless. But seriously now. At least be honest. "Modifying" (shortening) the payment due date because of the labor situation? How absolutely laughable. So typical of all the shenanigans for the past 30 months.
i'm not impressed with the new stadium at all. you mean to tell me for 1.6 BILLION dollars that is the best you could do? no dome, no wow factor, nothing special or interesting. just crowded slow escalators and not enough bathrooms.... but i digress. the real shitty thing about owning a psl in that stadium is that you share it with another person. psl owners at other stadiums get perks of being able to get first dibs on their seats for concerts etc but since you are sharing with a giants fan, no dice.. correct?
